Kannur Beach, also popularly known as Payyambalam Beach, is a nice and serene beach in Kerala. It perfectly combines natural beauty, cleanliness, and a calm atmosphere, making it an ideal destination for families, couples, and solo travellers alike. The long stretch of golden sand bordered by gentle waves creates a picturesque setting, especially during early mornings and sunsets. The sight of the sun dipping into the horizon with soft orange and pink hues lighting up the sky is absolutely magical. One of the best things about Kannur Beach is how well-maintained and peaceful it is compared to some of the more commercial beaches. It’s not overly crowded, which allows you to soak in the natural beauty at your own pace. The promenade and paved walkway along the shore make evening strolls extremely pleasant. You’ll also find well-kept gardens and a few seating areas where families can relax and children can play safely. There are several small vendors and stalls nearby offering local snacks and refreshing drinks, but the beach retains a calm, uncluttered charm. The nearby war memorial and landscaped park add a unique touch to the surroundings, making it more than just a regular beach visit. Whether you want to simply sit back and unwind, take a peaceful walk, or enjoy a scenic sunset, Kannur Beach is the perfect spot. It’s a place that captures the laid-back coastal vibe of Kerala beautifully and leaves you wanting to...
Read moreA beautiful beach, but could be cleaner I visited Kannur Beach recently, and while the natural beauty of the place is undeniable, I was disappointed with the amount of litter and dust around. The beach itself is gorgeous with soft sands and a great view of the Arabian Sea, perfect for a relaxing evening walk. 🌅
Unfortunately, the cleanliness could definitely be improved. There was a fair bit of plastic waste and garbage scattered along the shore, which takes away from the overall experience. It’s a real shame because the beach has so much potential!
I hope the local authorities and visitors can work together to keep this beautiful spot cleaner in the future. If you do plan on visiting, just be prepared for the current state of the beach and consider bringing along a bit of extra care for the environment. 🌍
