The Shri Mahadev Temple in Belagavi, also known as the Belagavi Military Temple, is a serene and historical place of worship that holds significant cultural and religious importance. Located within a peaceful area, it attracts both locals and visitors. The temple is well-maintained, with a calm and spiritual ambiance that makes it an ideal spot for prayer and meditation.

The architecture of the temple is simple yet elegant, showcasing traditional Indian design elements that reflect the region's rich history. The idol of Lord Shiva is beautifully crafted, and devotees often gather here for rituals and prayers. The temple is known for its peaceful surroundings, which contribute to a sense of tranquility.

The temple's proximity to the military cantonment adds a unique aspect, with many soldiers and their families visiting regularly. The temple serves as a place of solace for them, offering a break from their routines and an opportunity for spiritual connection.

While the temple's atmosphere is generally positive, the area around the temple can sometimes be crowded, especially during festivals or special occasions. However, this does not detract from the overall spiritual experience.

Overall, Shri Mahadev Temple in Belagavi is a must-visit for those interested in spirituality, culture, or history. Its peaceful setting, simple yet beautiful architecture, and historical significance make it a standout destination for locals and...

Located on the Camp Road in Belgaum in Karnataka, Military Mahadev Temple is one of the prime attractions in the city that has been built and maintained by the Indian Army. Founded in 1955 by Lieutenant General S.M. Shrinagesh, General Officer, and Commander-in-Chief Southern Command, the temple is situated in the heart of a lush green park. In addition to that, there is also a play area for the kids.

The foundation stone of Military Mahadev Temple was laid on January 18, 1954. The temple was opened to public on January 24, 1955 by Lieutenant General S.M. Shrinagesh, General Officer and Commander-in-Chief Southern Command.

Military Mahadev Temple has undergone several renovations and modifications through the years and the dome has been completely changed. There is a religious ritual practised every Monday called Samuhik Panchamrit, also called as the collective offering of the Panchamrit. This Panchamrit is made of four important elements - honey, yogurt, ghee, and sugar. The most important festival celebrated here is Mahashivratri. It has undergone renovations with a new dome built in the original style and carvings similar to those in other South Indian temples.

The temple remarkably clean and well-maintained. It is so called because of its long-standing use for worship by army personnel and of course, it was later thrown open...

Commonly known only as Military Mahadev for the shiva temple established around the 1950s. Before we come to the temple, there is dense tree cover all around the vast campus. The original entry opposite to Pop In restaurant is permanently closed. The only entry and exit is now a bit ahead before the railway bridge junction, which gives access to the temple as well as the newly created walking track showcasing the forts of Shivaji Maharaj. There is space for two wheeler and four wheeler parking inside the campus. There are also some benches near the parking lot as a seating area. This area leads to the temple across a large garden with a Krishna fountain which mostly has some domestic turtles. To the left of the temple is a large play area, completely shaded by eucalyptus trees. To the right is a quieter pathway along which there is a small deer and rabbit sanctuary on one side and some orchards on the other side. The place is mostly active from 6 - 9.30am and mostly in the evening...

Military Mahadeva Temple is One of the city's oldest temples, this Shiva shrine is managed by the Indian Army and was inaugurated in 1955. The temple is situated on Camp Road and is surrounded by a green, well-landscaped garden with a children's play area and has some benches to sit on. The central shrine houses an awe-inspiring black Shiva Lingam, guarded by five-hooded serpents, which captivates visitors with its mystical allure. Adjacent to the temple is a mini zoo that houses deer and emus, providing an additional attraction for families and nature enthusiasts. The temple complex includes statues of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and replicas of forts associated with him. The temple is open on all days from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. It has relaxing and peaceful settings makes the place worth a visit !!!
