A Serene Experience to Remember – Alleppey Backwaters Boat Ride
I recently had the pleasure of taking a boat ride through the stunning backwaters of Alleppey, and it was truly a magical experience. The calm waters, lush greenery, and traditional Kerala houseboats created a postcard-perfect setting that left me completely relaxed and refreshed.
Our boat was clean, well-maintained, and spacious. The crew was incredibly warm and professional, making sure we were comfortable throughout the journey. We opted for a sunset ride, and watching the golden sun dip below the horizon while drifting through narrow canals was absolutely breathtaking.
What I loved most was the slow pace of the journey — it gave me time to absorb the natural beauty, watch locals go about their daily lives along the banks, and enjoy the sounds of nature. It’s a great way to disconnect from the hustle and bustle and soak in the authentic charm of Kerala.
Highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting Alleppey — whether you’re a solo traveler, a couple, or with family. If you have the chance, go for a full-day cruise or even stay overnight in a houseboat to enjoy the...
Read moreWe found this Shikara service while driving around Alappuzha - one guy actually chased our car and gave us a visiting card. At first, we thought it might be a scam, so we tried contacting a few other Shikara operators through phone and social media, but none of them offered a good deal.
Finally, we decided to call the number on the card. The owner, Anus, answered - he had a bit of an attitude compared to the friendly guy who gave us the card, but he shared all the ride details clearly. We were 4 people and got a 3-hour ride for ₹2000, which was quite reasonable.
The driver was really nice, explained everything along the way, and we ended up giving him a ₹200 tip because he made the experience great. The best part no advance payment! We paid ₹2000 after the ride.
Be careful though while searching, another guy tried to scam us by asking for an advance. Google pay suggests he was a fraud and unable to pay. Don’t pay anything upfront.
Pro tip: Go for an early morning ride around 6 AM - it’s peaceful and crowd-free. After 9 AM, it gets quite busy.
Overall, a great experience totally...

He was a very warm person and adventurous too. Not to forget the delicious lunch they provided on the banana leaf with all the traditional food prepared by the locals. It’s filled our belly’s and was delicious. Superb experience. I totally...
