Read moreI booked a night stay on the boat for 26th December, 2021 only one day in advance. With peak season and such few options for being so late, hats off to Libin for making it happen.
He got us a premium shared boat, but our room was on the top deck with amazing view area right outside the room. The boat was very comfortable in every possible way.
The boat however had a little mishap an hour into the ride, where the kitchen had a fire breakout which basically set us back by an hour. This also meant all the food the chef had prepared was destroyed, but I still want to give them 5 stars because of how they handled the situation. They first docked us and ensured everyone was safe, then went to all guests and apologized and explained they need to bring food from restaurants. This was definitely a let down, but they efficiently managed to get us all fed within the hour and didn't even waste time on the dock, instead took us around while the on ground staff arranged for lunch. The food was sub standard though and even the snacks were not good. I guess they tried their best in the situation.
When we docked Libin arranged for refreshments as per my request and came personally to explain how this is not common, and apologized.
Night dinner was really delishicious, only complain is it still wasn't local cuisines. I guess they were still struggling from the mishap and had to get food from a different boat. Libin has promised me amazing keralan food next time.
My favourite parts were - the scenic backwaters and the life that revolves around it, interaction with the boat crew ( Honey, Vinesh and Richard), taking a walk in the morning and seeing local fishermen lay nets and catch fish and getting fresh Toddy from a boat in the back waters...
In a nut shell these guys are doing a good job, sometimes things don't go as planned, but what matters is how you react and full points to Libin and team for making the...
