Children's Park, Kollam — Attraction in Kerala

Ashramam is one of the prime locations in Kollam city of Kerala, India. It is one among the 55 wards of Kollam Municipal Corporation. Asramam is a notable place in the city because of the presence of old airport, public/private institutions, tourism destinations, parks, hospitals, maidan etc. Asramam Maidan, the biggest open space now existing in any of the Kerala Municipal Corporation limits is situated at Asramam. The first airport in the state of Kerala, Kollam Airport, was functioned in this maidan. Asramam is the headquarters of the Kollam branches of Indian Medical Association and Sports Authority of India. Link Road, one of the important roads in the city, passing through Asramam. The one and only International Hockey Stadium in the state is coming up at Asramam. Asramam is one of the most important places of Kollam city. The city's biggest attractions like Adventure park, Children's park, Picnic Village and British Residency are situated at Asramam area. The thick Mangrove forests in this area is very popular allover the state. So many renowned hospitals in the city are situated near Asramam. Sankar's Institute of Medical Science[SIMS], Dr. Nair's Hospital, ESIC Model & Super Speciality Hospital etc are the famous hospitals...

We visited the place reading all the good reviews but it eas a sad state of affairs. None of the rides were working as they said there was some paper work issue with respect to the contract undertaken. My mother needed wheelchair facility, when we requested the person at office has been very cordial but the guard who was told to bring the wheelchair was the most arrogant, rude person ww came across. He said he won't bring it is not his job. He will show the place and we take it if we want. We took the wheelchair from the storeroom nearby, he didnt even clean it. It was sooo dusty. He said its brand new, just that no one has used it. When asked for cleaning, he gave an already dirty & torn piece of cloth. The wheelchair was veey rusty and the pathway is not a whellchair friendly one too. This was not a pleasant entry. The place needs a lot of cleaning and maintenance. The grasses were not trimmed either. It was as if we paid to see garbage....

It is a good place in the middle of the city for children's. It is located near the Asramam ground.

Children's can enjoy and spent few hours here. There is separate ticket for each ride inside the park. All need to take entry ticket at the entrance of the park.

I saw lack of maintenance in the rides or other items inside the park. Few rides are even not safe for children since there is rust in the rides.

Kollam corporation should take necessary action to maintain the rides safely. Since this rides are mainly used by children please take more responsibility and care on the park.

There is a large parking ground available and we can park vehicles safely here.

Since we are paying for each ride, please make sure that the children's are safe using these rides.
