Read moreThe service at this restaurant was pretty good. We came on a rainy night and there was someone with an umbrella to take us inside so that we don't get wet. The waiters and the staff were very kind and they were super attentive, which was good. What I have to say, the biggest letdown was the food. I've eaten at a couple of places, a couple in Kollam, a couple in Parippally, and the best spot for me personally in terms of what I look at, which is quantity served, the quality of the food, and the price. The restaurant that has met all three of those expectations is Grandeur in Parippally, this Ramees restaurant, it was really a hit on all three. We also ordered chicken biriyani and not only was it pricey, the quantity served was so much lower compared to Grandeur and the taste was very bland. There wasn’t much flavor in the biriyani. The quantity of the curries was also low. We tried a couple of different curries and I think we got the chili chicken as well. It just didn't taste that good. It didn't taste bad, it just tasted a bit bland. It didn't have quite the flavor I was expecting that I've tasted from these other restaurants. Overall, it's more expensive, you get less food, and the food doesn't taste as good. It was really a letdown. The last time I ate at Ramees was like four years ago, and I remember it being better. I don't know what happened in those past four years for the overall quality to go down. Perhaps it's a different chef, I'm not sure on, but if you're really hungry and you just want to eat a spot, you can stop here, but if you really want tasty, high quality dishes that aren’t overpriced. I would go to Grandeur in Parippally. We go there as a family consistently, and we're not a family that eats out a lot, so you can really get an idea of how good the food is there. I think if this Ramees location can work on taste and quality it would improve the food so much. Uploaded a couple pics from our lunch at granduer for comparison incase anyone was...
Read moreBland biriyani, bland beef bellari rice even the egg on top of it was bland. The chicken in biriyani was dry. The beef in bellari rice was awesome, it had flavour and seasoned well but the rice was tasteless. Their honey chicken was our fav more like "the only thing we liked". The place had 3 a/c's and a floor mount ac fan. When we entered the place it was so hot. I looked around and saw none of the ac's were on. Only the floor mount was fuctioning that too hot air. We asked them twice to switch on the ac byt they didnt. There is NO EGG in biriyani. They didnt even give pappadam. We had to ask them to giv us pappada and when the pappadam came it was dripping in oil. What shook us was there was fried masala like substance on them. We understood that pappadan was fried in the same oil as other fried items(chicken fry, chicken 65 etc) were fried. The staffs were good. Their deserts are good. We had ramees special falooda and choco chip ice cream. The most shocking thing was their MUTTON RAMEESA. Sorry but it is just an absolute embarrasment to mutton lovers. It costs 230 rs and it didnt have neither medium sized pieces nor a big plate for presentation. They cut up mutton pieces like beef pieces. WHAT A SHAME. Is this what you call kollam's best restaurant. Rameesa didnt even have salt to begin with. It probably had hardly 150 gms of mutton and not one piece was there without a bone or cartilage. The gravy was straightup cooking oil and chilly powder. Everything is just a facade. All dishes are high in rates and lack the quality they charge us.ive attatched a photo for u to see tge amount of oil and the size of the plate in which we were served MUTTON RAMEESA.Even thattukada's one plate of curry is more in...
