Upon my recent visit to the zoo, felt ashamed about our state goverment and departments , As some one mentioned it is India and it is kerala, we are okey.. .I couldn't help but feel a profound sense of dismay at the deplorable conditions in which the animals are kept. The enclosures, small and rusty, are a stark contrast to the expansive habitats that should be afforded to these creatures. The lack of attention is palpable, with many animals appearing visibly distressed and suffering from age-related issues and skin problems.

The state of cleanliness within the enclosures is disconcerting, with signs of neglect evident in the form of unclean cages. The enclosures, rather than providing a semblance of comfort, seem to amplify the misery of the animals within.

While interacting with the staff, I learned about plans for a new zoo in Puthur spanning 350 acres. They said it is Asias biggest , well just 350 acre ! Not going to be asia s biggest anyway . However, the anticipation of a future facility does little to justify the current plight of the animals here. The promise of a better future should not be an excuse for the continued suffering of these beings.

In light of these conditions, I strongly advocate for the reconsideration of keeping this zoo open to the public, especially with admission fees. It's time to prioritize the welfare of these animals over commercial interests and provide them with a dignified and peaceful environment, even if it means closing this facility. Letting them experience calm and peaceful surroundings, even in their final moments, would be a more...

The Thrissur Zoo and Museum, conveniently located within Thrissur city with accessible street parking, offers a truly wonderful escape into nature. Stepping inside feels like entering a mini-forest, thanks to the lush canopy of numerous trees that envelop the area. This creates a refreshing and immersive environment, a welcome contrast to the urban surroundings. The zoo boasts a diverse collection of animals and birds that are a delight to observe. We were particularly captivated by the majestic Jaguar, the powerful Tiger, and the impressive Lion. The vibrant Peacocks with their stunning plumage were another highlight. It's evident that this is a fantastic place for children, offering them a chance to connect with wildlife in a close and engaging manner. The inclusion of a dedicated kids' play area further enhances its appeal for families, providing a space for little ones to expend their energy. For added convenience, the facility offers a canteen for refreshments and a cloakroom to securely store belongings. The entry ticket is reasonably priced, making it an accessible outing for everyone. Clean and well-maintained toilets are also readily available. Overall, the Thrissur Zoo and Museum provides a refreshing and enjoyable experience for visitors of all ages. It's a fantastic opportunity to witness a variety of animals and birds in a pleasant, almost forest-like setting, right in the heart of Thrissur city. The added amenities like the kids' play area and canteen make it a highly recommended destination for a relaxing and...
