How cheap can you serve good food? Yes. How do you serve a truckload of quantity at such a cheap price? Also, yes
Stepping into Hao Ming near St. Thomas College Road in Thrissur is like entering a delightful, slightly chaotic explosion of red and gold – perfectly setting the stage for the culinary adventure that awaits. As a haven for students and anyone with a bottomless pit for a stomach, this place has mastered the art of defying gastronomic logic.
My recent pilgrimage led me to the legendary Changs Seafood Noodles (₹280), a dish I can confidently say is a marvel of modern engineering. "Plenty for 2 adults" is an understatement so profound it should be etched onto the restaurant's very walls. We're talking two average adults with reasonable appetites, mind you, who will still be questioning their life choices halfway through the delicious avalanche of flavor. Each forkful was a testament to "how do they do it?!"
The service? Good! The staff moves with a quiet efficiency that almost makes you wonder if they're secretly powered by the sheer volume of food being churned out. And then the bill arrived. My immediate reaction was a double-take, followed by an internal investigation: "Did they forget to charge me for half the items?" The economics of this place are truly something to behold, leaving you with a newfound respect for their business model and a wallet that feels surprisingly intact.
After battling my way through the seafood noodle mountain, I was left with a mix of utter satisfaction and a quiet, profound respect for the magic that happens in that kitchen. If you're in Thrissur and your hunger knows no bounds, Hao Ming isn't just a recommendation; it's a glorious (and stomach-stretching) pilgrimage. Just make sure to wear those stretchy pants. You've...
Read moreHao Ming ✨ was a fantastic dining experience! We tried a variety of dishes from their menu, and everything was absolutely delicious. The portions were generous and clean presentation.
The ambiance of the restaurant was lovely - perfect for a relaxed and enjoyable dinner. The service was excellent too, with friendly and attentive staff.
Here's a breakdown of what we tried:
Appetizer: The chicken lollipops were a great way to start the meal - crispy and flavorful. Soup: The lemon coriander chicken soup was a refreshing and light option, perfect for cleansing the palate between courses. Main Courses: The American chopsuey was a classic done right, with a good mix of vegetables and meat. The chicken momos were perfectly steamed and bursting with flavor. The black bean beef (highly recommended!) - the special of the day - was absolutely phenomenal. The beef was tender, the sauce was rich and savory, and it was easily the highlight of the meal. The Tibetan chicken and Mongolian beef offered unique flavor profiles and were both delicious. The nasi goreng chicken was a delightful Indonesian twist, with fragrant rice and perfectly cooked chicken. The schezwan triple rice was a flavorful and satisfying option for those who love a bit of spice.
Only Minor Hiccup: ❌
The only drawback we encountered was that the restrooms could have been cleaner. However, this didn't take away from the overall excellent experience.
Highly Recommend!✨

Read moreBeing a customer of Hao Ming for years now and this was the worst experience. We came from Chalakudy to Hao Ming, Thrissur just to have food and now regretting every bit of it.
The dishes we ordered were ready and they kept it at the serving bay for around 25 Mins without serving. We had a 2 year old kid who was asking for food this whole time and finally after 25-30 mins they served the food.
The food was not hot obviously after all these time and it was pathetic in taste. Also the schezwan triple rice we ordered was in very small quantity unlike before. They served triple rice in normal Dinner plate. There was no sufficient meat in the rice too. Drinking water was obviously chlorine flavoured.
Finally when I mentioned these to the person at the second floor he said plates were not available since there was rush and that's why they kept the food with them without serving.. 🤷🏻🤷🏻
Went down and said this to the guy at the payment counter and he was not surprised by this and just said will look after next time. That's all..
You charge good amount of money for your food and then provide service like this which is absolutely not acceptable. We are paying what you asked for. You should provide food and services accordingly.. Or else the minimum thing to do for these messup was to adjust the bill amount..
Never coming back.. Never recommending to anybody..
Update: Owner offered compensation for deleting the review. Now we know about the truth behind the...
