Sajja kothi is the place where Sambhaji Raja was kept during his "saja" by Shivaji Maharaj. Correct me if I am wrong. Here is more information from trawel.co.in

The Sajja Kothi is a beautiful historic building in Kolhapur. Its situated just 23. 4 kms away from Kolhapur.

The Sajja Kothi is a beautiful building of huge historic significance. The architecture is very interesting with intricate carvings and domes. The structure is situated on a hill which makes it more aesthetically pleasing. It overlooks the Waranna valley which is a beautiful view with the rolling hills and the greenery. It is believed to be built in 1008 AD. The Sajja Kothi is associated with the great Maratha ruler, Shivaji. It is said that Shivaji planned many battles while he stayed here. The son of Shivaji Maharaj, Sambhaji was imprisoned here because he threatened to join with Aurangazeb. The place is actually a part of the Panhala fort. The place offers a great view of the valley and is a beautiful piece of architecture. The building is three storied and was built by the Muhammedans. It was actually built with an idea of being a punishment cell. The building is a perfect specimen of the Mughal architecture. The legend says that the Maharaj Shivaji escaped this building when the Bijapur general attacked Panhala, And instead a brave soldier named Shiva Kashid disguised as Shivaji and fought the general Siddi Johar.

The Sajja Kothi is a beautiful piece of architecture just waiting to tell you its history. The place is adorned with beautiful carvings, domes and balconies. Being so old, its amazing how strong the structure is still. The place is suited for history buffs.

It is perfect for spending a day immersed in history with your friends and family. The sajja kothi is open to visitors all year round. The ideal time to visit the place is from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM. The best time to visit will be in the winter as the climate will be extremely...
