#కవళీ మాత.....

మన తెలుగు వారు గవ్వలమ్మ గుడి అని పిలిచే గుడి లోని అమ్మవారు. ఈ మాతను కౌడి మాత అని స్థానికులు పిలుస్తారు...

కవళిమాత ఒకప్పుడు కాశిలో నివసిస్తూ ఉండేది. ఆమె జీవనోపాధి కొరకు గవ్వలను అమ్ముతూ ఉండేది. ఆమె సదా విశ్వేరుని భక్తి శ్రద్ధాసక్తులతో ఆరాధించేది. శివారాధనకు ముందుగా గంగానదిలో స్నానం ఆచరించేది. గంగాస్నానం తరువాత విశ్వేశ్వర దర్శనం అయిన తరువాత ఆమె ఆహారాన్ని స్వీకరించేది. ఒక రోజు ఆమె స్నానం చేసి గట్టుకు రాగానే ఒక హరిజనుడు ఆమెను స్పృజించాడు. హరిజన స్పర్శ కారణంగా ఆమె తిరిగి గంగలో స్నానానికి వెళ్ళింది. అలా ఆమె స్నానం చెయ్యడం తిరిగి హరిజనుడు స్పృజించడం తిరిగి గంగాస్నానానికి పోవడం చేస్తుండగా రాత్రి అయింది.

ఆమె ఆ రోజంతా భోజనం చేయలేదు. కాశీ అన్నపూర్ణా మాత క్షేత్రం కనుక ఆ క్షేత్ర సరిహద్దులలో ఎవరూ భోజనం చేయకుండా ఉండకూడదు కనుక అన్నపూర్ణాదేవి స్వయంగా కవళీకి ప్రత్యక్షమై భోజనం చెయ్యమని చెప్పింది. కవళీ మాత్రం విశ్వేశ్వర దర్శనం చేయకుండా భోజనం చెయ్యనని చెప్పింది. అన్నపూర్ణా మాత కోపించి ఆమెను కాశీ సరిహద్దులు దాటి వెళ్ళమని ఆదేశించింది. కవళీ కాశీ సరిహద్దులు దాటి వెళ్ళినా.. ఆమె విశ్వేశ్వర దర్శనం చెయ్యలేక పోయినందుకు చింతిస్తూ శివుని గురించి తపసు చేసింది.

ఆమెకు శివిడు ప్రత్యక్షం కాగానే.. ఆమె.. "ఈశ్వరా.. నా భక్తిలో లోపమేమిటి. నన్నిలా కాశీ నుండి పంపిన తరువాత నేనిక నీ దర్శనం ఎలా చేయగలను" అని ఆవేదనపడింది. ఈశ్వరుడు.. "కవళీ.. నీ భక్తి తిరుగులేనిది అయినప్పటికీ హరిజనుడు స్పృజించాడని తిరిగి స్నానం చేయడం అపరాధమే. నాకు హరిజనులు, పురజనులే కాదు. సకల ప్రాణులూ ఒకటే. ఎవరైనా నన్ను స్పృజించి నమస్కరించడానికి అర్హులే. నీవు హరిజన స్పర్శ అపవిత్రమని భావించి చేసిన అపరాధానికే ఈ దండన లభించింది. అయినప్పటికీ.. నీభక్తికి, తపసుకు మెచ్చి నీకు ఒక వరం ఇస్తాను. ఇక మీదట నా భక్తులు నన్ను సందర్శించిన ఫలితం నీకు ఇస్తాను. భక్తులు నీకు కానుకలు సమర్పించి వారి దర్శన ఫలితాలను తిరిగి పొందగలరు" అని చెప్పి అదృశ్యం అయ్యాడు.

అప్పటి నుండి కవళీ "కవళీ మాత" అయింది. కనుక భక్తులు కాశీ విశ్వేర దర్శనం చేసుకున్న ఫలితం కవళీ మాతకు దక్కుతుంది. అందుకు పరిహారంగా భక్తులు కవళీమాత దర్శనం చేసుకుని ఆమెతో.. "ఈ గవ్వలు నీకు సమర్పిస్తున్నాము. కాశీ ఫలితం నాకు ఇవ్వు" అని ప్రార్థించిన భక్తులకు కాశీ వెళ్లిన ఫలితం దక్కుతుందని విశ్వాసం 🙏🙏

కౌడి మాత గవ్వలమ్మ దేవాలయం వారణాసి బెనారస్‌లోని చిన్న దేవాలయాలలో ఈ ఆలయానికి ప్రత్యేక ప్రాముఖ్యత ఉంది. కౌడి మాతను తెలుగులో గవ్వలమ్మ అంటారు. ఈ ఆలయం దుర్గాకుండ్ సమీపంలో, భేలుపూర్‌లోని దుర్గా మందిరానికి ఎదురుగా ఉన్న లేన్‌లో ఉంది.

కౌడి మాత గవ్వలమ్మ దేవాలయం కౌదీమాతను విశ్వనాథుని సోదరిగా భావిస్తారు. ఆమె శివుడిని ఆరాధించడానికి బెనారస్ వచ్చిన దక్షిణ భారతదేశంలోని అటవీ దేవత / గ్రామ దేవత. ఇక్కడి ప్రజలు ఆమెతో సరిగా ప్రవర్తించలేదు. వారితో విసిగిపోయిన దేవత ఆహారం మరియు నీటిని విడిచిపెట్టింది.

దీని తరువాత మా అన్నపూర్ణా దేవి వచ్చి ఆమెను ఇక్కడ కొడియా దేవి రూపంలో ఉంచింది. ఆమె విలువలేనిదిగా భావించే దేవతను ఆశీర్వదించింది మరియు సాధారణంగా విలువ లేనిదిగా భావించే కౌడి/శంఖం గవ్వలు విలువైనవిగా మారుతాయని మరియు మీకు సమర్పించబడతాయని చెప్పింది. నీ మంచి ప్రభావంతో భక్తుని జీవితంలో దుఃఖం ఉండదు. మీకు కౌడీలు సమర్పించకుండా యాత్రికుల కాశీ దర్శనం అసంపూర్తిగా ఉంటుంది.

కౌడీ మాతకు నైవేద్యాలు- 5 కౌడి (శంఖం) మరియు ఒక గుడ్డ ముక్క అప్పటి నుండి భక్తులు కౌదీమాతకు ఒక గుడ్డ ముక్క, కుంకుడు, పసుపు మరియు 5 శంఖములను సమర్పిస్తారు. వాటిలో నాలుగు అమ్మవారికి సమర్పించబడతాయి మరియు ఐదవది భక్తునికి తిరిగి ఇవ్వబడుతుంది, అతను దానిని తన డబ్బు వద్ద ఉంచుకుంటాడు, అది అతనిని అభివృద్ధి చేస్తుంది.

శంఖు మాలలతో గవ్వలమ్మ/ కౌడి మాత కొన్ని ప్రాచీన సాహిత్యం ద్వాపర యుగంలో శ్రీరామునికి అత్యంత భక్తురాలు అయిన శబరి యొక్క పునర్జన్మగా కౌదీమాతను పరిగణిస్తుంది. ఆమె రోజూ రాముని కోసం పండ్లను తెంచుకుని, ముందుగా దానిని రుచి చూసేది, అది తియ్యగా ఉంటే దేవుడికి నైవేద్యంగా పెట్టి చేదుగా ఉన్న వాటిని విసర్జించేది. ఆమె రాముడికి తీపి పండ్లను ఇవ్వాలనుకుంది మరియు వాటిని దేవుడికి సమర్పించే ముందు వాటిని రుచి చూడకూడదనే ఆలోచన ఆమెకు ఎప్పుడూ రాలేదు.

తన తప్పు తెలుసుకున్న ఆమె రాముడికి నిజం చెప్పింది. రాముడు ఆమెను క్షమించి, నీకు కలియుగంలో పూజలు చేసి, శంఖుస్థాపన చేస్తానని, ఇప్పుడు కాశీకి వెళ్లి, అక్కడ నీ పాపం నుండి విముక్తి పొందుతానని దీవించాడు. అలా ఇక్కడే కౌడీమాతగా స్థిరపడింది.
