Sugreev Kila — Attraction in Uttar Pradesh

This ancient fort was built at Tretayuga by Maharaja Bharata to welcome Lord Sri Ram back to Ayodhya after his conquest of Lanka. Later, Lord Sri Ram, the king of Ayodhya, gave this place to Maharaja Sugriva to stay in Ayodhya. Since then, this famous place has been known as Sugriva Fort, and today the mythology of this place is still recorded in the Department of Archeology.

This fort was also renovated by Maharaja Vikramaditya during the restoration of Ayodhya to Sugriva Fort, a very mythical site located very close to the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi complex in Ayodhya. King Sugriva is also worshipped in this temple along with Lord Shri Ram, Mata Sita and Lakshmana Bharat Shatrughan. Purushottamacharya Ji Maharaj tells that Lord Shri Ram killed Maharaja Bharata before going to exile. The jewellery kept at this place was said to protect the diamonds, gems and rubies. After 14 years, when King Ram returned to Ayodhya, Bharat Maharaj had built a fort from the gems present at this place to welcome Lord Shri Ram. When Shri Ram returned to Ayodhya after 14 years, Sugriva Maharaj was also with him.
