Eco Nest — Attraction in West Bengal

Eco Nest at Bangur - Lake Town, Kolkata - 5 km stretch along VIP Road has witnessed a grand makeover in the past few months. The bridge across the lake between Bangur and Lake Town is a sight to behold, especially when it is lit up in the evening. The banks of a waterbody next to the busy and congested VIP Road has been spruced up, illuminated and now boasts walkways. Several parks in the locality have been renovated too. Metro takes stock of a rare change for the better in our city. The bridge and the walkway, curiously named The Eden Walkway, around it have turned into a popular hang-out for people of all ages. Fountains on the water, soft strains of music and a vast stretch of open space make Eco-Nest a pleasant package. A lot of young as well as elderly people take a stroll, sit on the benches and chat among themselves. It's an animal world out there. Elephant topiaries to models of giraffes and a life-like rhinoceros to an orang-utan - they are all there. Kathburo, Tyansh Goru, Khuro (of Khuror Kol) and other characters from Sukumar Ray's Abol Tabol dot Abol Tabol Park, off Bangur Avenue. The place you could be in the lap of nature with the sidelines of a busy street where regular buses , cars and autos commute frequently. The walk ways offer a safe mode of walking for the pedestrians.. the lake side view enhanced by the well spurned trees .. in the evening the fountain with myriad colours adds to the view... This is nice bridge over the pool of water across the eco nest . But even within 4 to 5 years of its built , the nice semi arch bridge has totally lost its beauty . Leds lights are no longer functioning properly , no security guard , no cleaning . It is highly recommended that as the bridge is almost open on both sides , any day any untoward incident may happen as the water level is too deep and in late even the place becomes...
