The staff were helpful. The location was convenient for taking a bus to Shyambazar metro or ultadanga and go to the market.
The staff in the hotel were not prepared for our arrival at all even though I informed them of our arrival time a few hours in advance. They made us sit (along with my ailed sister) and discuss which room to allocate. We had to spend two nights in two different rooms because they did not think about the availability of rooms while accepting bookings from booking.com. When we arrived, they mentioned that the rooms were on a first come first serve basis, not what one would think when booking a hotel room via booking.com. Either the hotel management or the booking.com management should intervene and resolve the issue. This was a sheer lack of sincerity from the management.
Additionally, the hotel rooms are not clean and not maintained regularly. There is dust on the corners and hidden between the almirah, bed & wall. The curtains are dirty and we did not feel like touching them. The towels were not clean. The bathroom did not have proper toiletries. We ordered a simple breakfast and it arrived 1 hour later that too cold. It merely qualifies for a 2-star hotel. Given the rooms and the management, the price of the hotel seems to be inflated by a...
Read moreI really don’t know where to begin. This has been my most unpleasant stay ever. They charge a whooping 9k for 4 nights and do not even have the basic facilities. There was no kettle for a simple cup of coffee. THEY CHARGED US EXTRA FOR A BOTTLE OF WATER. The geyser was old fashioned and required 20 minutes of wait time and then too the water was hot for only 10 minutes, so a shower was practically impossible. I had to take. I had to take a bucket and mug. Felt like I was living in a cheap 3rd grade mill workers dormitory at the price of a decent guest house. The bathroom was filthy with dirt in every crevice possible. They have put some cheap looking wooden stickers on the flooring. The floor was perpetually dusty. The lighting was horrible. The room was so stuffy. The entry to the guesthouse reeked of oil and food because they had a kitchen right in the front. They did not even charge us water at the MRP of 20/- they charged us 30 for every water bottle we took. The receptionist even started fighting and had the audacity to compare his dingy looking guest house to a 5 star hotel and say you don’t ask for all of this over there. Any place has the basic decency to give water to...
Read moreWe ended up staying at this hotel on 30 minutes notice as a group of 5 people for 8 nights because our previous hotel had cancelled our booking.
We were able to booking this hotel on very short notice which was very helpful, and we had no other options. The staff were friendly and very helpful, printing out our passport and visas for us when asked, and generally were very nice. Location was also pretty ideal for what we needed.
However, the cleanliness of the rooms and amenities left something to be desired. Rooms were generally very dusty, bed linens were stained and had holes in them, and the beds were just pieces of foam on a wooden frame. Our rooms weren't cleaned in the 8 nights that we were there, and considering the bathrooms are wet rooms, where we were coming and going with house shoes on, they got very dirty very quickly.
Additionally, our bins were only emptied once which also wasn't ideal as we weren't able to flush our toilet paper due to the plumbing. Also, of our three rooms, only one had hot water, which made...
