I am from Indonesia and the country and people mean so much to me. So do animals. I have seen the way horses are treated in Bromo-tens of them forced to climb down and up steep hills with no path, and many rocks-not all horses are made for that kind of exercise. As well as the horses in Yogyakarta, eyes dull, and body aching from the heavy weight forced upon them everyday. Many of these horses are tiny, but forced to carry more than they can hold. But the worst example of this is the Bandung Zoo. Anybody, anybody in the world that has a pet or has worked with animals know how kind they can be, how non-judgemental, their different personalities, and the way they touch lives. Anybody who knows that feels parts of them are being torn when they see the conditions of the animals in this retched hell. Even someone whose never worked with animals before but has common sense and dignity knows what they're doing at the Bandung Zoo is wrong. So terribly wrong. Animals that could've lived a better life, animals that could've known something different, like food everyday, kind humans, and enjoy every bit of their own playfulness. But sadly, they no nothing of that. Thier whole lives have been stripped away from them the moment they entered that zoo. And for the people who visit this zoo, they're no different than those who beat up chained animals for no good darn reason. They're no different than those who leave starving animals without food, or those who leave sick animals to die. They're no different because by purchasing a ticket, they're saying YES, I support this cruelty. YES, I support these inhumane actions. This is SICKENING. And anyone who even dares to bring children along with them should be considered incapable of handling anymore. Because you are teaching them that abuse is okay, that this cruel treatment is okay. JUST DONT GO. And if it's children who want to see animals,JUST DONT TAKE THEM. GO TO LENBANG D'RANCH OR FLOATING MARKET INSTEAD. They take care of their animals much more better, and have petting zoos, games, and horse rides, which is way more fun than a zoo. IN...
Read moreWonderful animals and wonderful creatures here! Like elephants, lions, giraffes, deers, bears, monkeys, crocodiles, fishes, snakes, reptiles and many many more zoo animals to see.
In Kebun Binatang Bandung, I get to see the animals I've never seen before up close and there are many interactive posts such as animal feeding (deers, giraffes, binturong and many more), bird parks, photo sessions with exotic birds, educative shows on zoo animals and many more.
The place have many snack booths that sells burgers, sausages, takoyaki, fried potatoes, fried chicken, ice cream, and drinks. There are also special package like but 1 sweet corn get 1 free lemonade drink or buy 1 cup of ice cream, get 1 free lemonade drink. Also the parking space is quite spacious but the road is not that flat so be careful driving there.
The fee of 1 person is Rp50.000 and you can be in the zoo for as long as you want for the day but then there are some areas of the zoo that need some maintenance like roads, cages and posters. Some areas also have no signs that made confusing tracks and make people confused on where to go or where they are (lost hazard).
But then the zoo keepers and staffs are very very nice and polite; they are very friendly and does not hesitate to help the visitors. In my experience, the staff offer to help me and my friends to take a picture as well as give very clear directions to our questions on the safety of the animal feeding 👍
Overall my experience in bonbin is very nice and very memorable eventhough the facility could be repaired for a little bit more, even so! Visit Kebun Binatang Bandung now! Fresh air and delightful experience...
Read moreBandung Zoo offers a mixed experience for visitors, blending moments of enjoyment with concerns about animal welfare and facility maintenance. The zoo's location amidst lush greenery provides a pleasant setting, enhancing the overall ambiance. However, several enclosures appear outdated and in need of renovation, which detracts from the visitor experience.
Animal welfare practices are a significant concern at Bandung Zoo. Some enclosures are notably small, and there's a lack of enrichment activities for the animals. These conditions may raise ethical questions for conscientious visitors.
On the positive side, the zoo houses a diverse array of species, showcasing Indonesia's rich biodiversity. Educational opportunities are available through guided tours and informational signs, offering insights into the natural habitats of the animals.
Visitor amenities, such as food stalls and rest areas, are adequate but could benefit from improvement in cleanliness and variety. The staff members are generally friendly and helpful, contributing positively to the visitor experience.
In summary, while Bandung Zoo has potential due to its natural setting and species diversity, it falls short in terms of animal welfare standards and facility upkeep. Visitors seeking a comprehensive wildlife experience may find the current state of affairs...
