Juvela Airsoft Arena — Attraction in Batam City

Initially, we wanted to go to the outdoor shooting range nearby but stumbled upon this place when we came to One Batam Mall. The signages said it's at the "backside" of the mall, which took us quite a while to find. It's at the back where the food stalls are at.

It's a nice place as it's very spacious, has a sitting area where you can chill with friends while waiting and enjoy a drink. They have so-so coffee options, so that's nice. It's also air-conditioned, which definitely beats being out in the heat.

They have a few options in terms of shooting. They have the shooting range, a warzone, and a scenario range.

The shooting range has a few lanes and ranges up to 10 meters. They give you a colour-coded target sheet, where they clip on the zipline and send it out to 5 meters first, before trying the 10 meters. There are a range of rifles, but the staff selects one for you. Each rifle is of a different length and hence weighs differently. I can only assume the staff selects the bigger rifle for the bigger sized shooter.

If you have a choice, you may want to try out the different rifles and make sure you are comfortable with aiming using the aperture and the rear sight. I was given the biggest rifle, and I could hardly see my shots through the aperture because of how thick the rear sight is. The target sheets were thick paper, so the pellets were not able to punch through unless you hit the same spot repeatedly. There are also some rifles that require zero-ing, but the staff did not inform me so. You are given a grade on the target sheet at the end of the session. There are metal targets along the wall you can aim for, but these do not recline when hit, so that's less satisfying.

The warzone is mainly for teams to compete against each other. Think about it as paintball, but with airsoft guns. It's in an enclosed area with hiding spots, where you go against each other.

The scenario option is where you go through a course where you shoot at pre-determined targets. A staff member will follow you through the course and time you based on how long you take to hit all the targets.

It's definitely worth coming here for some fun...

Great place to unwind!!

We were looking for fun things to do and stumbled upon this.. boy were we ecstatic about it and signed up asap. Doesnt cost that much actually and with no other grps on site, we just walked in.

Lucky that we came before lunch hour and no one else booked any slots. So we decided to just for range type of shots. Since d rest didnt wana play the game itself where we can shoot each other, we just opted for something simpler.

Lets dive in!

Service: Staff were very professional. Welcomed us, greeted and showed us what the things cost and what are avail.. even assisted us during our range shoots.

Amenities: They do have snacks n coffee but we were there for a different purpose, thus we had our fun. They also have benches n tables for rest or waiting family members & friends.

All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed our time here.. we will highly recommend this place to...

TAKE NOTE! Our money got stolen and the owner was not only unhelpful and unsympathetic, he even victim blamed us.

There was zero follow up action and he just kept saying the CCTVs do not cover that spot, no effort was made to try and help us with the situation - he spent the entire time explaining why it wasn’t his fault. Only after the incident he told us that there were lockers for us to put our bags in a safer spot.

We heard from other regulars that this isn’t the first time things have been stolen and it seems no changes have been made to improve security and work processes.
