Absolutely terrible experience. We booked with this company after our original one was cancelled because the port was closed and this one is supposed to go to a different port. This was the most expensive option. We were told we had a hotel transfer included and pick us up and bring us to the departure point on Lembongan. When our transfer didnât arrive and we contacted them to find out where it was they said they couldnât do it but they didnât contact us to tell us, they were just going to leave us standing there and likely miss the boat completely. They then told us the boat would probably leave early so we better hurry and find a way to get there. We quickly got the hotel to organise a transfer and made it here with 20 mins to spare. Itâs now over an hour later, not only has the boat not left yet (45 mins after its scheduled departure) but itâs not even here and the staff seem to have no idea where it is or when itâs going to be leaving. Another of their boats arrived here around 4 and unloaded and we assumed thatâs the boat weâd be getting on but thatâs still sitting in the water not moving and weâve just been told thatâs not our boat. Now weâve been told the boat wonât leave until 6.30 because where now being picked up by a ferry coming from Lombok thatâs not supposed to stop here. Theyâre giving some nonsensical excuse as to what happened to our boat but it very much seems to us that itâs the one parked in front of us but because the boat is not fully booked they have decided to not send us on our original boat and instead get the ferry from Lombok to pick us up wasting 2.5 hours of the 20-30 people here. Thankfully weâre not flying out today but there are other on the boat who are and are stressing about making their flight. Staff have generally been evasive, rude and unhelpful. Avoid this company at all costs. Rocky seems to be the most professional of all the companies, book with...
Read moreDO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. My wife and I used Dâcamel Fast Ferry to visit Nusa Penida and it was a bad experience from start to finish. Firstly, they put us on the back of bikes (with no helmets) to get to and from the ticket office - this wasnât a big deal for us personally, but it wasnât communicated to us beforehand and could have been a problem for anyone scared of getting on the back of a bike. When we got to Nusa Penida, our driver spoke very little English which made it difficult to communicate with him. Some drivers/guides we saw at Nusa Penida were taking their guests to multiple spots for photographs, whereas ours would take us to one spot and then go and wait for us. We then went for our lunch which was included in the price we paid, and the menu options were their cheapest dishes only. I chose to have an ice tea (it was that or water) and the Nasi Goreng, which gave me Bali belly so I was extremely unwell by time we got back to our hotel that night. The wait staff were disinterested so if we had to wanted to order anything else, good luck getting their attention. Our return boat was booked for 4PM which was too late and we ended up waiting at the harbour for an hour and a half. When we got back to Sanur there was no driver waiting for us and I had to message Dâcamel to make sure there was still someone coming for us. When they eventually arrived, the driver chose to re-fuel (without telling us beforehand) on the way back to our hotel. Again, not a huge deal but surely this couldâve been done on the way to collect us (especially as they were late anyway). Would not recommend this...
Read moreAvoid this company at all cost. We witnessed the accident that occurred on August 23 when departing from Sanur. We were on the boat with around 50 other passengers. Boarding was done from the beach in a very hectic and disorganized way. There was clearly no security check performed by the crew prior to departure. As a result, a French tourist got his leg tangled in a rope that was still tethered to the beach just as the captain pushed the throttle. The boat is powered by 5 large engines. The poor man had his foot ripped off his body, the entire back rows of the boat witnessed the event and were unable to do anything. An Australian doctor used a rope as a makeshift tourniquet to prevent the man from bleeding to death. Once the man was evacuated, the captain got underway as if nothing had happened. It wasnât before the police asked him on the radio that he turned around. There are no words to describe the shock and the horror of this event. Our thoughts go to the victim and his family. We pray that he received proper medical care. Needless to say, passengers were deeply shocked by the event, but this is trivial compared to the consequences of this accident. The victim will be crippled for life as a result of the company and crewâs incompetence. The blatant disregard for elementary safety rules that led to this accident clearly show that Dcamel does not care about passenger safety and does not employ qualified staff on the ferries. We can only hope that this never happens again and that those responsible are made...
