Royal Orchid Spa — Attraction in Kuta Selatan

I opted for the Orchid Lulur Package (2 hours) at 850,000 IDR. Our driver claimed he had a special membership for a 30% discount, and with the spa showing 4.9 stars from over 2,000 reviews on Google, it seemed like a safe bet. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a total rip-off.

The reception was promising — cool towels and herbal tea were a nice touch. But once we headed to the rooms, the experience went downhill. Instead of individual massage rooms, we were put into dual occupancy rooms without even being asked our preference. The showers and amenities were very average for the price, and the room ambience was missing entirely — no calming music, no aroma from incense or oils, no candles, nothing you’d expect from a spa of this supposed standard.

The massage itself was underwhelming. The oil used was of poor quality with no pleasant scent. The “body scrub” for 20 minutes was a complete sham — just a layer of mitti applied, left to dry for 15 minutes, and wiped off. No scrubbing, no exfoliation. To make it worse, there was no head or face massage despite us specifically asking for it.
