Overall !!! We enjoyed our stay in the Villa and would likely return to stay if we returned to Bali.
However⌠there are key areas for improvement that would just help with not taking the shine off what you have paid for.
Firstly the staff were amazing ⌠friendly and eager to please, and while they couldnât always help with requests they did try.
On arrival in the Villa we were initially impressed, itâs comfortable, well appointed, and spacious some furniture selections could use a rethink (we were in a one room villa but had a 4 seat dining table next to the pool, but no lounges to relax on after a swim, I would suggest either banana lounges our outdoor lounge set )
In a country that is known for its tap water being âproblematicâ for foreigners digestive systems, I would recommend bottled water being complimentary in the room for drinking and brushing teeth ( while they had re-usable glass Bottles with water, as we couldnât be sure of where the water came from, we didnât use it.) When we called to room service to get some, we were told they didnât have any. We ended up walking to the closest shop ( of which there are many ) and brought our own, which we ultimately didnât mind as being Bali, it cost next to nothing.
On closer inspection of the villa you do notice some finishing trade issues, holes in walls, paint, tiles, some creative electrical wiring ( nothing dangerous, just typical Bali standards, when compared to western standards ) this does take the shine off and does have you get a little disappointed when you consider the resort is listed as 4/5âď¸âŚ.
The in resort dining is great and we enjoyed all the food we ate, although the options were limited at times. But not enough to be an issue.
The cleanliness over the course of the stay was okay, however the pool didnât seem to get any attention and we noticed the debris growing and colour changing and overall clarity of the water getting worse. Itâs did not affect our use of it, but was just one of those things you noticed.
Proximity to local shops ( 7\11 types convenience and even a supermarket ) is all within around 500 m, although if you havenât been to Bali you may find the walk confronting. We more or less found it fun being in the melting pot of the local area.
A couple of local restaurants within walking distance, were nice for quick dining experience after a long day out, although outside of that you can pretty much get anywhere, using the Gojek app ( Bali uber ) for very very affordable prices, so nothing is out of reach. And they will pick you up and drop you off at reception of the villa.
OVERALL, I give the place the higher end of 3 and half stars âď¸ âď¸ âď¸, although with some tweaking it would easily rated 4 to 5 stars.
Value for money was absolutely worth it and we would...
Read moreIt is very disheartening writing this review as I was expecting big things from Tanadewa and this is my first below average review I have ever written.
We are now in the process of packing our bags to check out 5 days early, this has culminated due to a string of issues with the Villa;
There are old blood and urine stains on our sheets (photos below)
We emailed ahead and asked politely for a room with lots of sunshine, we received response back informing us we would be in room 12 which has plenty of sunlight. We have arrived and been put into room 15 which has absolutely no natural sunlight in the pool or room, we went for a walk and it actually looks like none of the single room villa's have sunlight, so be aware if you are looking forward to basking in some sun on your holiday this is not the resort for you.
The fridge does not work and in fact the inside of the fridge is hotter then the outside, we informed reception to be told this is how the Balinese have their fridges and as westerners we would not understand, they were happy to provide us an esky.
We were told we would need to put down a security deposit which is fair enough, however what was not professional was the constant pushing for it to be in U.S cash (we are from Aus) and if we used a card it would take 6 months to come back into our accounts.
The pool is not heated, it is freezing to the point it is not enjoyable.
From the pictures on the internet there is meant to be a tv downstairs in the pool area, there is none in our villa. ( I know a small thing but I was looking forward to watching the rugby by the pool)
Toilet does not work, I have now informed reception twice.
Mouldy fruit left outside our door by the cleaners for 2 days which the smell has now wafted into our room
No ones fault but the resort isn't actually located in central Nusa Dua but in a industrial type area 7km outside, the resort does run a shuttle bus but 3 times a day in with 2 pickups, so if you are looking to have a getaway with good food and want to visit different restaurants this isn't for you.
Doors have mould all over them.
We have now checked out and raised all these concerns again, and there is nothing the resort can in regards to any sort of refund, they have then sent someone to check our mini bar in front of us even though we have checked out 5 days early with no...
Read moreTanadewa is a gorgeous selection of villas in Nusa Dua. It is a small resort - with maybe 20-30 villas and each villa gets a private pool, with a self contained room upstairs. We stayed here and the Tanadewa in ubud and the ubud location was our favourite. Theyâre both in less busy locations- and we rented a bike from the hotel each time. Youâll need one if you need to get around. Thereâs no need to rent one of course if youâre planning to simply stay in, however the ubud location we felt was more conducive to staying in as thereâs a pool, a rooftop restaurant and a restaurant that is large enough. Tanadewa nusa dua isnât quite in nusa dua itself, the restaurant is small and youâll have very few places to hang besides your villa. The spa is also a lot smaller than the ubud spa. We used both spas and preferred the ubud spa, simply because there was a lovely bathtub. We had plans to do a 5 hour spa session after checking out (to kill time, as our flight was at 9 pm), but because there wasnât a tub at nusa dua we went offsite to do so. Staff are very lovely, though housekeeping is not commensurate with a 5 star experience. Itâs not bad but small things such as body wash not being replenished, cups not washed and missing cups and towels just made for a lacklustre experience. It would have been fine for a 3 star, but after coming from the ubud location we were just slightly disappointed. We had all these inclusions but we werenât given vouchers for them, and so on the final day I found out we had all these refreshments etc that we had missed out on. All in all it wasnât a terrible experience, but itâs also not something Iâd write home about. The location is atop a hill and our driver kept missing the turn for some reason. Harder to get up via motorcycle, but not difficult for a seasoned motorcycle driver. Absolutely lovely restaurant staff, food was ok, mostly western food and we would have liked seeing a lot more...
