My wife and I almost skipped this place because of the 1-star reviews. I’m so happy we decided to come because the food was delicious.
Pros: The ambience is nice for an upscale-casual vibe.
The menu on their website doesn’t show their cocktail menu (another reason we almost skipped it). If you’re wondering - they do serve spirits/hard liquor, the bartender is terrific, and the cocktails were SO good. I had a special cocktail the bartender created (tequila, mango, pineapple, coconut liquer) and it was delicious. My wife prefers fresh/spicy flavors and had the lemongrass ginger mint lime juice and two shots of vodka. The ginger was strong, which she loved.
For appetizers, we ordered the samosas and mixed satay. The satay was one of the best we’ve had in Bali (and even throughout Thailand). The samosas were good, but we probably wouldn’t order them again (the skin was more similar to a spring roll than the samosas we’re used to).
For the main course, my wife ordered the AYAM BAKAR SAUS MADU, which was delicious. It was tender and very well-seasoned. The flavor was mildly sweet, but balanced nicely with chili and other spices. The portion was generous (about the size of a small half chicken). She loved it, and I really enjoyed the few bites I had.
For the main course, I ordered 1kg whole grilled snapper, and it was the best fish I’ve had (in Bali / throughout Thailand). It was also very well seasoned.
We also ordered the chicken noodles (Mie ayam…), which were so good. Also slightly on the sweet side, but not in a bad or overpowering way. My wife prefers savory rather than sweet flavors, but also enjoyed it. The chicken fried rice was the one thing on the menu we didn’t particularly enjoy.
The only issue was that my wife s chicken came over ten minutes before my fish. She basically finished her dinner before I got started. They can do a better job planning to bring the meals at the same time. However, we overlooked this as everything else...
Read moreLocated in the heart of Bali, Jaansan Bali Restaurant offers an unforgettable culinary journey that perfectly blends local flavors with an innovative twist.
From the moment you step into the restaurant, the warm and inviting atmosphere immediately sets the tone for a wonderful evening. The decor combines modern aesthetics with traditional Balinese touches, creating a serene and elegant ambiance.
The menu is a showcase of creativity and passion for food. Whether you’re a fan of classic Balinese dishes or looking to try something new, Jaansan has something for everyone. I highly recommend their signature Nasi Campur Bali—a beautifully presented dish with a variety of perfectly seasoned components. Their seafood options, especially the Grilled Jimbaran-style Fish, are fresh and cooked to perfection.
One standout aspect of Jaansan Bali Restaurant is its exceptional service. The staff is attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely friendly, making every guest feel valued and cared for.
The restaurant also offers a great selection of beverages, from traditional Balinese herbal drinks to a curated wine list that pairs wonderfully with their dishes. Don’t leave without trying their Coconut Pandan Cheesecake for dessert—it’s an absolute delight.
Overall, Jaansan Bali Restaurant is more than just a place to eat; it’s an experience that engages all your senses. Perfect for romantic dinners, family gatherings, or simply treating yourself to a fantastic meal. A must-visit...
Read moreHorrible service... The only good thing that we had was seafood soup at the very first time.. The seafood basket was expensive, but all the ingredients were frozen, I think, because there was not much meat on the shell without any juice either. Just sauce was acceptable. Furthermore, beef sate was worse(the worst part in this restaurant) it wasn't cooked from the fresh meat, just defrosted on the charcoal and came to us as like rubber. It was so chewy and tough without any juice. It tasted like frozen bulgogi, which is a very low quality of meat. They only have 4 kinds of white wine on the list, but only one was available... When we asked for a bill, the manager suddenly mentioned that they could not accept a card because of the wi-fi issue. We didn't have enough cash, so we had to waste our time trying to send money directly to her account but couldn't send it because we could not use an application for transactions. Finally, the manager brought a card reader, and we could pay by card. I don't know why this happened, but I guess this restaurant wanted to avoid paying tax. This was the last dinner of the last day in Bali for us and totally messed up. Even the manager and server kindly apologized to us, it was not a good experience during our trip. Please think again before you go there. Lots of reviews do not guarantee...
