Plenty of big named stores in this mall. Nike, H&M, Ace Hardware, Gucci, Louis Vuitton and Uniqlo. I have to wonder why you'd need luxury brands in a place where the average worker earns less than $10,000 annually or less than $500 a month, but, nevertheless, they are there for people who need to flex.
If you want Western food, there's a Pizza Hut and starbucks. UNFORTUNATELY, they missed a huge opportunity here. They could have centralized western food options in the malls. Pizza Hut, KFC, Dominoes, Starbucks, McDonalds, Subway... There's plenty of emtpy space and it wwould be nice to make the mall a one stop restaurant for foreign travellers who don't want Indonesian food all the time. To go to Subway, you'll need to visit the Discovery mall. To go to KFC and Dominoes, you'll need to walk half a kilometer to the side street plaza. To get McDonalds, you'll need to walk a kilometer.
I also feel that they missed an opportunity to offer a TAILOR SERVICE in the mall. If you want a suit made, for example, you can visit ALPHA MALE SUITS, but that's a kilometer away. The tailors can make men and women's clothes including nice beachwear, tuxedos and even wedding dresses.
The Ace Hardware and Hypermarket are the two main stores you'll probably need to visit. They have plenty of harware and gadgets you may need for your room or apartment such as socket adapters, microwaves, rice makers, etc. I can't shop for clothing here because I'm huge compared to the Indonesian people, but if you were anything smaller than 2XL, you should be OK. Plenty of women's clothes and undergarments. (the target audience).
The mall is very nice for a walk, has an open air atrium design and has a few play places for young children including the TIME ZONE and a theater.
I like that there are plenty of stores to buy support equipment for Android and iPhone. I love the Hypermarket for purchasing groceries. The shopping experience is virtually identical to what Ive experienced in Philippines and Thailand. The only main difference is there aren't many alternatives in the area. There is no bazaar or low-cost shopping option. There is another mall, Discovery, less than 4 kilometers away and lots of souvenir shops, but the biggest variety stores with highest quality are centralized...
Read moreWhile I wrote another review about a different shop inside the mall, I didn’t realize I had never reviewed the mall itself, which should be something more significant to provide information about whether one would like to visit or not.
Mall Bali Galeria is located in By Pass Ngurah Rai, and there is another exit next to the Duty Free. There used to be an entry there, operated when it’s too crowded on this site, but I haven’t visited enough during peak hour lately to know whether it’s still in operation.
Parking. There are plenty of parking lots, from the VIP, the shaded one, the elevated one with scary ramp to the ones that are under the sun. The shaded one is located in the basement, beside a quite smelly city drain (I believe). However, I prefer to park here as the access to the mall is closer. During hot season it can be unbearably hot to park your vehicle without shade. Parking fee is standard, I can’t recall the detail now, but it’s one of the cheapest mall parking rate that charges you by hour with first hour being the most expensive.
The mall itself is partially air-conditioned, with open area. It’s a two row concept with open space in the middle. It can be hot. There are barely any public sitting space/bench.
Shops. From clothing to sport, watches, supermarket, medicine, bank, hardware, coffee shop, cinema, and many F&B. You can get many things here but personally, I think it’s a bit on mediocre side. You might not get everything you need. Having said that, I think the mall is variative enough although it no longer has bookshop the last time I visited. I don’t remember seeing Gramedia, Indonesian book store chain, but there are are under renovation so there is still hope.
Overall, I think it’s worth going. The mall is on the older side, and the layout is quite different, but I think it has the charm in...
Read moreI often visit Mal Bali Galeria and had a great experience overall. The mall has a great selection of stores, making it a perfect place to shop for clothes, accessories, makeup, shoes and souvenirs. You can see many things. There are parks, bookstores, play ground and hypermarts. There are also plenty of food options available, ranging from local Indonesian cuisine to international favorites. I particularly enjoyed trying all the food. The Mal Bali Galeria is easily accessible, located in the heart of Bali and close to many popular tourist destinations. The operational hours are convenient, as it's open daily from 10 am to 10 pm. The parking fee for motorbike is Rp. 3,000 per vehicle is charged for the first 0-2 hour and progressively increases by Rp. 1,000 per hour. In terms of things to do, Mal Bali Galeria has a cinema, a bowling alley, timezone and an arcade center, making it a great place for families and friends to hang out and have fun. There are also plenty of events and promotions going on throughout the year. One downside is that some of the stores and restaurants can be a bit expensive, so be prepared to spend a bit more if you're looking for high-end brands or fancy dining options. Additionally, while the mall itself is well-maintained and clean, the surrounding areas can be a bit crowded and chaotic. Overall, I would definitely recommend Mal Bali Galeria to anyone visiting Bali. It's a great place to shop, eat, and have fun, and its convenient location and operational hours make it a must-visit...
