Marugame Udon — Restaurant in Kuta

Okay, this is one of my favorites restaurants to eat out. The foods are great (at least, according to my humble taste). The tempuras are also delicious. They also sell matcha and vanilla ice cream, and they are great. What I don't really like is the interior(?) It looks so cramped and crowded, even though it's not. Probably because they don't have big space, but still, it's a bit uncomfortable. But anyway, this place is great. Price is in the middle-high range. I won't say it's expensive, but it's also not cheap either. Marugame Udon is, unfortunately, not accepting many payment methods. It's so old fashioned to only use cash and debit. With a famous restaurant, you expect to be able to pay in credit or electronic wallet (such as OVO or DANA). Idk whether this thing is not the case anymore tho. But the last time I came here, I had to pay in cash...

One of the male staffs wearing glasses was very rude! We were sitting close to the glass door and it was closed to keep the room cool. That male staff opened the door when he passed and didn't close it. Because it's very hot outside, we closed the door but he passed again and opened the door again. HEY, we knew that you did it intentionally! If you think that it should be opened for air circulation, at least you should tell us & apologize for the inconvenience... We're eating drenched in sweat =( Truly bad service!! Not worth of money

Update per May 11th, the staff management quickly contacted me to deal with this and they already apologized. So I revised 1 star that I gave before became 3 stars. The food itself was good, I just wish they can really improve their service...

Had quick lunch when do shopping on next shop..sorry i gave 2star because of the attitude..food was good...all ok same as other shop in t.umarr that i always had lunch..when i choose kakiage..it was shoggy and oily and look too brown..when i asked the new one .the chef told me that was the new one and i should choose those thing and still want to sell the unpleasant thing..so i cancel to take it...most of staff chewing and drinking in the show kitchen that look unpleasant.when serving to the guest...but the lady who cleaning the table has a good service attitude...ordered 2 beef curry udon..fried nori..etc....friday 7 feb...
