Jungutbatu Beach — Attraction in Nusa Penida Subdistrict

If you are after fine sand and vast expanses of swimming area, this beach may not be for you. There is a lot of tourist boats tied up along Jungutbatu Beach, and while the sand is clean and quite nice under foot, it can get a little coarse with coral.

BUT..... there is something amazing about this beach. At high tide the water is a beautiful blue, at low tide the reef exposed. There is always something to watch and be mesmerized by. I found sitting on and walking along Jungutbatu Beach so relaxing.

Took a drink down to watch the sunset at low tide. Bliss.

A so-so open water sea swimming experience. Depends on the timing but here can be riptide, the water has foam most of the time from pollutants coming from the many boats so it’s clear only some of the time as a result. You need to be mindful of the boats at all times, regularly coming in and out. Waves can be rough at times, and the tide can be low and super shallow to swim. Lembongan island should really consider building a dedicated boat pier and sort out waste disposal...

The beach it self fine but the white sand is filled with hard coral rocks. Unpleasant to walk on, really not a spot to jog haha. My feet were all scratched and bleeding after i hit my toe on one of the huge coral pieces. The boats in the area tie up their boats there on the top of the beach so there are huge ropes from the ocean all the way up the beach so really no place to walk on the beach by the ocean. Beautiful view but I rather want to be on the main land...
