Waká Beach Club — Attraction in Nusa Penida Subdistrict

We stumbled across this resort and wanted to relax by the beach; however, the majority of the chairs were taken by a tour group. This is not their fault; they obviously booked and so got priority. We were offered to sit by the pool, which we did. It cost 100,000 each, but no towels were provided. We simply took some we had seen sitting on empty beach chairs for over an hour. No one ever sat in those chairs, so it was a little annoying as we could have been on the beach instead of by the pool all day.

The drinks were below standard, unfortunately, and a closer look at the resort showed it was very run-down, with broken outdoor showers, very dirty toilets, and broken pieces in the pool. We saw a waiter once in total; the tour group was the main focus, so we only ordered one drink each.

Some staff were completely lovely, and others seemed interested in staying in the bar area and just chatting to each other. Our solution is that we just won't go back, which won't make a difference to them as it seems tour groups keep them going.

Unser Besuch im Waka Beach Club war leider eine große Enttäuschung. Obwohl wir fast die einzigen individuellen Gäste waren – abgesehen von einer großen französischen Reisegruppe – waren alle Strandliegen von der Reisegruppe blockiert. Besonders ärgerlich: Die Gruppe hat die Liegen nicht einmal genutzt, da sie die meiste Zeit mit Schnorcheln beschäftigt war. So waren wir gezwungen, am Pool zu liegen, obwohl wir uns eigentlich auf einen Tag am Strand gefreut hatten.

Für zwei Personen wurde uns ein Preis von 400.000 IDR berechnet, der sowohl die Liegen als auch einen Mindestverzehr abdecken sollte. Doch der Service war schlicht katastrophal: Niemand kam, um unsere Bestellung aufzunehmen, und wir mussten jedes Mal selbst aktiv nachfragen, wenn wir etwas haben wollten. Als wir das Personal auf den schlechten Service ansprachen, hieß es lediglich, man habe sich um die Reisegruppe und deren Essen kümmern müssen – obwohl wir die einzigen Gäste waren, die regulär bezahlt haben.

Auch die Qualität der Getränke war enttäuschend. Der Sangria war völlig ungenießbar, einzig der Saft war akzeptabel – aber das half wenig, um das Erlebnis zu retten.

Insgesamt war unser Besuch im Waka Beach Club eine große Enttäuschung. Der mangelhafte Service, das blockierte Strandareal und die schlechte Getränkequalität haben uns den Aufenthalt gründlich verdorben. Wir würden auf keinen Fall wiederkommen und können diesen Ort definitiv nicht weiterempfehlen.
