Just visited this place based on the good reviews. In particular on the laksa curry as it was something I was craving for.
First things first: the place looks spectacular and combined with the music creates a nice beachy atmosphere. Service was quite attentive, menu’s were handed out quickly and order taken after a perfect waiting time. The waitress did seem to rush things and was not really invested in providing first class service. Although she was friendly. No free water was provided, which in other more upscale places like this one is common practice. After our dish we wanted to have another look at the menu, so we called the waitress to request it but seems like she completely forgot so had to go to the bar and pick one up.
Now the food: we both ordered laksa curry as we both love it so much. When the food came I was surprised at the small size of the portion. Considering it’s 90k it was a disappointment. Another thing that caught my eye my eye was the color of the laksa: way too bright yellow with a watery consistency. Upon tasting the curry I was hit by something that was not laksa at all. It tasted more like curry powder mixed with water and perhaps a dash of coconut milk. No depth of flavor at all, very bland and unpleasantly spicy, not balanced. A real laksa curry is made of a spice mix from red dried chilies, shallots, candlenuts and aromatics like galangal, ginger and lemongrass. The curry should be creamy from the coconut milk and full of flavor. Unfortunately, this laksa curry was far from that. I hope they will improve the...
Read moreI really don’t feel good leaving that low review, especially because this place has really beautiful interior, but let me explain. I am a huuuuge foodie and I have visited so many food places and while I really believe that when it comes to food its a matter of taste (one can love and another one hate) I also think there are just some things that are not good food experience. Like, how hard is to put sauce on a bun, instead of serving completely dry buns and in a middle tastless dry patty? Its just very strange combination- buns without any spread + dry patty. I had vegan burger but even that is not an excuse to not have any sauce in the burger! Also, as someone who knows what is Coleslaw I without a doubt can tell you- this is NOT Coleslaw. On the side was sauce for fries but it tasted like acid, not enjoyable at all. Just bitter/sour. Somebody already wrote this and I totally agree- affer dinner I was hungry!😬 I dont want to try their other dishes because I believe that EVERYTHING that is on menu must taste good without experimenting to find one good dish among the rest. The only really good thing was their tea, we took even 2 tea pots because it was really enjoyable. Service also was very friendly. But other than that-meeeeeh, overpriced and not tasty food. P.S. Seeing how owner has replied to other comments- I will add, I LOOOOOVE vegan food and I eat 80% vegan food, so its not about that I didnt...
Read moreI've been to this restaurant today, one of the staff was gossiping to another about me after I asked for the wifi password and she typed the wrong password on my phone, it's quite common around here the staff attitude, veggie burgers with black beans patty is small and tasteless, it only has a bit of cabbage and leafs on it, fries portion was like 6 fries, you definitely will have to leave this place and go eat elsewhere, I dont mind to pay more when it at least taste good, but it wasnt the case, around 300 meters away there's a clean and nice restaurant, lunch is nutritious, tasty, good portion size, and it costs me one third than what I paid for this burger. This place looks nice, nothing special though, simple decoration, and that's all but compared with other places that don't have any decoration it's a thing. Most of people travel from far away to Bali because it's suppose to be a very affordable place but nowadays a lot of restos and home stays in Bali are increasing their prices but not their quality, keep in mind that most of travelers only come to Bali because it's cheap if you keeping on raising the prices you're shooting your on feet. Once it starts to cost me the same to come here and to go to Greece, Spain, Portugal, South of Italy, Mexico, South America, I'm rather go there, plus tickets are the way cheaper to go there from most places than to...
