It’s no secret I’m happiest underwater so here are our top 3 snorkelling places in Indonesia (so far) 🐠 the drift off Nusa Lembongan 🐠 turtle point off Gili T and the west side of Gili Meno 🐠 Jemeluk Bay in Amed, east Bali. We still have so much of info to explore both on land and underwater but as usual time is running out. 4 Indonesian Islands to visit INSTEAD of Bali. Bali is great, and should be on everyone’s bucket list. But as a developing nation that’s been overrun by tourists, it doesn’t have that laid back vibe you’re expecting. Instead you’ll find crazy traffic, lots of crowds, and trash filled streets. These 4 islands are considered similar to what Bali used to be, before the tourists took over. Lombok- Island experience with waterfalls and surf beaches. Try the Mt Rinjani overnight mountain trek for an awesome outdoor experience! Nusa Lembongan- A quiet village vibe, surrounded by seaweed farms. Visit Ceningan Island while there, only accessible by boat or by crossing a small bridge on motorbike or foot. Nusa Penida- Visit cliffside beaches or snorkel with Manta Rays Gilli Trawangan- A true beach vibe! There are no vehicles on this island, only beach cruisers and small horse drawn carriages. And you can snorkel with sea turtles right off the beach! If you do visit, do your best to be a traveler and not a tourist. Support local shops and guides, help the economy while being respectful and without putting a strain on it. Nusa Lembongan is an island located southeast of Bali, Indonesia. It is part of a group of three islands that make up the Nusa Penida district, of which it is the most famous of the three islands of Nusa Penida, Nusa Lembongan, and Nusa Ceningan - known together as the "Nusa Islands".
