TIKI BAR & MORE ( Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner) — Restaurant in Nusa Penida Subdistrict

We have been on this beautiful island a few days and have enjoyed all other cafés we have been to a lot but this was a very disappointing experience. First of all my cocktail did not have any alcohol inside. I went to the bar and asked them and they confirmed there was definitely alcohol inside but that was not the case. It was a very simple berry cocktail without much flavour so we would have easily been able to taste the rum. My partner had to go back to the bar again, and after tasting the cocktail he added a shot of rum but did not even apologize or anything. We also ordered a starter, French bread with avocado and mushrooms. The food itself was okay, but you could see the cook did not care at all. We waited half an hour to get three slices of French bread dumped on a plate with avocado marks all over the plate. If they would have taken a little bit more time they could have made it way nicer...

MANAGER PHYSICALLY ATTACKED US WHEN WE CRITICISED THE POOR SERVICE. Never set foot in this place unless you want slow service, rubbish food, and violent staff.

After waiting 1.5 hours for our food (two inedible pasta dishes that wouldn’t have taken more than 5 minutes to cook), we asked to speak to the manager to see if we could have some money off of our bill as compensation. When we finally spoke to the manager (after dealing with numerous rude waiters who kept ignoring us), he grabbed my boyfriends neck in a chokehold as he was explaining why we were dissatisfied with the service. The manager left red marks on my boyfriends neck, and we were told we still had to pay the full price for the meal. The manager attacked me when I told him the service wasn’t good enough.

We waited 90mins for two pasta dishes so then complained that the service wasn’t good enough. After 10mins, I asked to speak to the manager. I was escorted to the back of the restaurant to meet the manager. I calmly began explaining why we were disappointed with the service and when I told him that we didn’t think it was fair to pay the full bill he grabbed me by the neck and told me, “You will pay the full bill”. I was left with a dark mark on my neck. Stunned that I had been attacked in the middle of a restaurant, I said to him that if you’re just going to beat me up, I’ll pay in full, but it doesn’t send a good message to all the people that witnessed you physically attacking a customer.
