Tired of haute cuisine portions at immodest prices on the island of Lembongan! Look no further than the well located Warung Bu Candra, on a corner of Lembongan's main drag, the Jalan Raya Nusa Lembongan that runs from Mushroom Bayin the south west to the mangrove forests on the north coast of the island. Genuine Indonesian warung serving large helpings at warung prices. You can eat to your heart's content at prices less than half on the beach or on Jalan Raya Nusa Lembongan. The atmosphere is genuinely warung and you'll find the locals eating here too. It was lunchtime, so I ordered a Bali coffee as an appetizer, and a nasi goreng sayur and cap cay sayur for lunch. ❗️Warning – Tourist Scam! I went there yesterday, pretty exhausted from a long day. I accidentally paid 400,000 instead of 35,000 (I just wanted to round up to 40,000 and leave a small tip). This obvious mistake was not corrected, no one said a word, no questions asked. 😳

I’m honestly shocked by the dishonesty. I’ll definitely avoid this place for the rest of my stay and go to a more honest nearby alternative instead.

Update: I went back the next morning and brought it up. The other staff members were friendly, but the woman involved denied it. I was simply told that, unfortunately, she claimed it wasn’t true – even though I’m sure and I double-checked my money. There was no refund or solution offered, which is really disappointing. I chose not to escalate the issue any further and let it go, although it was very frustrating.

❗️Achtung Abzocke! Ich war gestern dort und schon ziemlich erledigt von meinem Tag. Dabei habe ich unabsichtlich statt 35.000 ganze 400.000 bezahlt (ich wollte eigentlich auf 40.000 aufrunden und Trinkgeld geben). Dieser offensichtliche Fehler wurde nicht korrigiert…keine Rückfrage, kein Hinweis, nichts. 😳

Ich bin wirklich entsetzt über so viel Unehrlichkeit. Diesen Laden werde ich während meines restlichen Aufenthalts auf der Insel meiden und stattdessen auf einen ehrlicheren, nahegelegenen Anbieter ausweichen.

Update: Ich bin am nächsten morgen nochmal hingegangen und habe es angesprochen. Die restlichen Angestellten waren zwar freundlich, aber die betreffende Dame hat es geleugnet. Man sagte mir lediglich, dass sie meinte, es stimme nicht – obwohl ich mir sicher bin und mein Geld auch nachgezählt habe. Leider kam es zu keiner Rückzahlung oder Lösung, was sehr schade ist. We were so disappointed with our meals. My boyfriend and my friend got different food, one grilled chicken and one fried chicken and they got the same thing, because the grilled was sold out but they didn’t ask if he preferred fried chicken or another option.
