The resort is very beautiful, quiet and tranquil. Excellent place for a mental reset, meditation and mindfulness. The swimming pool area was very nice and clean. Cleaniless - the resort was not immaculate. I would not call it filthy but its lacking. There are areas such as the main lobby and restaurant where there were cob webs and visible dust. The floors had stains in high foot traffic areas which could easily be cleaned. Some of the servers in the restaurant had dirt stained uniforms which is not acceptable for they are the face of the resort. Some guests left trash lying around on the resort and for the 4 nights we were there no one cleaned that trash. Restaurant - we liked that they offered a daily breakfast included in the room rate. However, sometimes the food and coffee was offered was cold which was a huge disatisfier. We also asked for hard boiled eggs and even specified to boil for 8-10 minutes but the eggs would come back with a runny york. Room - we were in a deluxe room it was extremely spacious. We liked the mosquito net around the bed . From an outward appearance the room looked fabulous however there were mold stains on the bathroom ceiling and our shower drain was clogged such that it flooded the bathroom. We told them to fix, they said they did fix but the same happened the next day. We ended up moving rooms. In the new room the sink/wash basin was leaking from under which created a fall risk on sleak floors especially at night. I was also disapponted by the dirtyness/mold growing in the bamboo holders for the glasses. I had to rinse the glasses before use. The manager is great and keeps the team accountable and overall friendly. My big suggestion is paying attention to small details the resort has potential of being a 4 to 5 star ratings easily but they are...

We read good reviews of this place and booked it. Unfortunately our experience has been unpleasant. ||We are a family of 5 pax, booked 2 bedroom Family Suite with a pool. ||The family suite was infested with hundreds if not thousands of ants when we checked in. When we informed them, what they did was just sweep off the ants from the floor. They did not bother to solve the problem of preventing the ants from coming again. We had to wait at the restaurant for them for an hour to do the clean job. After that no one informed us that then suite was ready. We had to ask. When we returned, there were still ants on the floor. We realised that the ants were raining down from the roof. ||We had to ask for a broom and dust pan. This is the first holiday in a resort that we had to sweep the floor ourselves. ||The ants situation became worse as more and more ants dropped from the roof onto the floor. One of the bedroom suffered more that the other room. our bedroom. Basically the whole family suite was infested. ||When we left, there were no attempts to help with our luggage. We had to drag our bags from the suite to the reception. When the staff from reception saw us including our kids with our luggage, they don’t even bother to offer to help. We had to carry and load our luggage onto the transport. ||For breakfast - we had an insect found in one of the juice served.||Worse resort we have been to. Will|Never go...

I was very disappointed upon entering the room, especially considering I paid a non-refundable $200 for two full days and three nights.

The staff were polite, helpful, and responded promptly to all my questions. The internet connection was good, and the hot water worked perfectly. Breakfast was acceptable, though there is some room for improvement.

However, several aspects of the accommodation need attention. The mattress appeared very old (most important to me) — when one person moved, the entire bed shook like a wave, making it uncomfortable to sleep. The bed sheets and towels, which should be white, were grey with some stains and seemed worn out. I understand this may not be the staff’s fault, but the owner should consider replacing them. The curtains were also dirty.

The slippers were not sealed in plastic packaging and had an unpleasant smell, as if they had been used before. The liquid soap container seemed unclean, and the soap itself appeared diluted with water.

The swimming pool was 1.6 meters deep, which made it unsuitable for non-swimmers (I am 1.62 m tall). In most other hotels, the depth is around 1.4 meters, which allows both adults and children to enjoy the pool comfortably.

Lastly, the room door had noticeable gaps that could allow insects or lizards to enter.

I hope this feedback helps improve the comfort and hygiene of the hotel for...

This is NOT the Puri Sunia Resort it claims to be. The original resort closed 2 years ago and was split into two properties: AnandaDara Ubud Resort and The Kanjeng Resort, but Agoda still uses Puri Sunia’s old photos and reviews to mislead guests. On arrival, there was no proper lobby or reception, just one staff member with minimal English. Our first room smelled of mold, had spider webs by the bed, and triggered an asthma attack for my son. The second room was worse — it had ants everywhere and a stronger smell of mold. Exhausted, we took a third room, but the bedsheets smelled dirty, and we had to sleep on top of the bedding fully clothed. The Kanjeng is nothing like its photos. There’s no restaurant, no fresh breakfast (just pre-packaged food), and only 8 rooms, not a resort. I had to pay for a room at AnandaDara Ubud just to keep my family safe. Other travelers have had similar experiences, as seen in recent reviews. This is blatant false advertising and a health hazard. Avoid at all costs.

By far my favorite part of my two weeks in Indonesia! The facility is tranquil, beautiful, authentic, and just want you need if you’re looking to disconnect and escape reality for a bit. We were upgraded to a larger suite on the second floor. Had a beautiful jungle view from the bedroom and bathtub. Bucket list experience! The staff were so lovely. Julie took us on a nature walk where we saw the rice fields and met farmers and she also hosted yoga class. There was a male staffer who provided my partner with a male sarong so he could enter a temple and even arranged our driver for that road trip. Bikes can be hired there for a very low fee (around $5 a day). I will return to Ubud just for this resort. Exceeded expectations. And is so affordable for what you receive (free activities, breakfast, peaceful and luxurious facility!).
