I imagine they must have closed at some point and reopened with an affordable price to attract the local market. Makes perfect sense.
When we arrived they were setting up some sort of market on the grass area that was not explained to us and we were not sure if it was a private thing or not , decided to nap instead. (Or try too, it was impossible since the market had music blaring and the base was resonating in our room, no nap possible on the 31st of December )
While we were trying to nap , a large group started checking in and were so loud right outside the doors of our 2 rooms and it seemed that they were not being checked in efficiently as 6 times , these guests or members of thier group opened our doors and just walked out without apology for the intrusion, manners must have been in vacation.
These groups of people decided to spend thier new years countdown in the corridors and they happened to be right outside our doors so we had no choice but to stay up with them and we were so sleepy after not being able to nap in the afternoon. We had asked them to keep.it down at a few times before we realised that they didn't have a single bit of empathy for anyone else.
The rooms were ok but in the one room there must have been an infestation of these big black ants as they kept coming into the room and climbing up the curtains. On further investigation as to why the ants were climbing the curtains we found the remains of what seemed to be an any colony in in the curtains.
The bbq dinner was ok for the price , our little one was falling asleep at the table so we are quickly and went back to the room (also a result of no nap)
In the morning the mess in the corridors was simply astounding , not only that no staff had been allocated to clean up over night but also that these ignorant guests could leave such a mess.
The 2 positives parts of our experience were firstly the staff, from the person that took the reservation to the front desk staff , the restaurant manager and even the IT guy that was hooking up an extra router , they all smile and greet you genuinely and proactively offer assistance, the pool is awesome , there are cabanas and it's pretty deep and there is a nice view of the rice paddies from the pool too.
We checked out a day early as a result of being frustrated by noisy ignorant guests , we realised that they would continue to be noisy either way and we do...
Read moreWe stayed at Om Ham for four days and I must say that it was a memorable experience. We reached at around 2pm and we were welcomed with a drink as we checked into the hotel. The hotel is located right next to a paddy field and has a pleasant atmosphere. The air feels fresh because of the lush nature surrounding the hotel. The hotel staff were very kind and helpful. The room was quite big and had a bathtub. Hot water is available 24x7 and toiletries are provided. The shampoo and conditioner was kept in a bottle but was not replenished when room service cleaned the room. However, not a big deal for us as we used our own toiletries. The AC was quite good and they have two chairs and a table outside the room to enjoy the nature which is quite thoughtful. Water is not replenished by the hotel staff. However, water station is available at the restaurant which is good and it is self service.
The hotel also has a restaurant Tulsi where breakfast was served. The breakfast was decent but not much option for vegetarians except fruits and bread, sometimes a cutlet. Again, not gonna consider it as a major con as most of the hotels in Bali has a similar menu. We also had the chance to try out their menu items which was good and the price was reasonable. We had a very smooth checkout experience as well. The place does not have an elevator (or atleasdt we didn't see one) and since our room was on the third floor, it was a bit tiring to walk every time. Standard waterbottles could have been kept once a day for convenience as sometimes we tend to forget to refill our bottles and it's a long way down. The place gets a bit noisy in the morning and evening as Yoga and few other activities are held at the top floor. It could be annoying for people who are not participating in the event and just want to be in a peaceful environment.
The place has ample parking space and the employees will help you with your needs. The place is around 5km away from the market and you can rent a scooter to move around ( Preferable scooter rental place : Nadi Scooter Rental shop)
Overall, I would definitely recommend this to people who wants to be in an environment surrounded by nature and who wants to...
Read moreJust back from an extraordinary Yoga & Spiritual Retreat in Bali, and our experience at Om Ham Retreat was nothing short of transformational.
Nestled close to Ubud Market and the Monkey Forest, Om Ham became our home for 5 blissful days — filled with serenity, rituals, and soulful connection.
From the very first day, the retreat space was beautifully decked up to welcome our group, setting the tone for what was to come. The early morning rituals, the calm and sacred environs, and the thoughtful touches throughout the property reflected the deep intention behind this space.
At the heart of it all is Master Ketut Arsana — a globally respected Balinese yoga master and healer. His Ashram Munivara and Healing Centre are an extension of his vision, and his energy permeates every corner of the retreat.
A heartfelt thanks to the reservation team — Ayuning, Julita, and their staff — who were not only professional and sharp, but always warm, smiling, and ready to help.
A special mention to the kitchen team — who served us a beautifully curated traditional Balinese meal on the final evening. And on the last morning, when most had early departures, they thoughtfully packed breakfast boxes complete with protein, juice, bread, and more — all ready without us having to ask.
The only suggestion for improvement would be around access to the Kundalini Hall, which is on the top floor. It may be challenging for senior members, and wheelchair assistance could be a valuable addition for inclusivity.
We’ve taken back not just memories, but valuable insights on how to curate meaningful retreats in India — and we look forward to bringing such world-class standards into our upcoming yoga retreats in Goa, Rishikesh, and other Indian destinations.
