We first stayed at Madani Antique Villas in March 2023 and enjoyed it so much we've just arrived home from our second visit (we stayed 5 nights the first visit and 8 nights this second visit). From the moment we arrived, we were enveloped in the serene and ambiance of this quaint hidden gem. The villas are ideally situated just a short distance from Ubud’s center, offering a peaceful retreat while still being accessible to restaurants, cafes and attractions (there are a number of eateries in walking distance but I'd recommend a scooter if you intend on visiting Ubud Centre and other attractions further away). The natural surroundings are breathtaking, with rice terraces and tropical greenery creating a picturesque backdrop (although if you want to stay whilst the rice terraces are at their peak, do your research for which time of year to visit). The villas themselves are of traditional Balinese charm with antique furnishings, adding a unique and authentic touch. We loved our private pool as well. The onsite restaurant - Nusandari Cafe - was built between our first and second visit so we were pleased to enjoy coffee, Bintang and cocktails here a few times during our second visit (they do an excellent strong latte which pleased me greatly because I have high Australian coffee standards!). The service at Madani was exceptional - the staff were incredibly warm, attentive, and dedicated to ensuring an enjoyable stay. They use WhatsApp to communicate with guests which we personally love. It makes it easy and efficient to ask questions, organise scooter hire, airport transfers and breakfast selections. Yuni is a national treasure - we miss her already and look forward to seeing her and...
Read moreMadani Antique Private Pool Villas are perfect in every way. The staff is so friendly and amazing and was great at communicating on Whatsapp before we arrived. You check in at a different location and are greeted with an amazing welcome beverage. You are then whisked away to the rice fields where your beautiful villa awaits.
When the door open to your garden, take a second to take it all in. We stayed in one villa one night and switched to another for the other two nights of our stay. Each had a different, breathtaking pool area, but very similar bathrooms. The villa is classically done in Balinese woods. There are two beds, a mini-fridge, outdoor propane stove, sink, and amazing outdoor bathrooms. I'm really struggling with showering indoors now that I'm home. Ha! Also, deep tubs! The views are just amazing. You are in the middle of working rice fields.
They have a restaurant that you can order room service from. They also arrange tours and have two motorbikes for rent. We had a flower bath and floating breakfast and both were fun and amazing (and reasonably priced!).
The location is more near the Tegallalang area than Ubud, but either can be reached easily by car. The villas do offer car service.
They are building a restaurant/main building near the villas, so there is some construction noise (March 2023), but it's not enough to be disruptive.
I felt special staying here and it was well within our modest budget. There's no other place I would stay in the Ubud area for the value, beauty and...
Read moreWe were surprised to find a lot of positive reviews about the property.|We arrived at the villa, a small community with four villas surrounded by a fence with barbed wire! The view of your villa and sitting area (inside the villa, there is no place to sit, there is only enough bed space) is one meter from the barbed wire! It looks like you are in prison.|The pictures show a good view and good-looking facilities are maybe it's true, but the manager told us the view from the pictures is in another location. She explained to us that we booked only a villa with a bad, and they are not responsible for providing us with facilities and good view as per the pictures! My questions: if the pictures are of two locations, how is it allowed to use two locations as one property? When we are booking, we are expecting to see the view and facilities as per the pictures as well. We would like to enjoy our vacation, not to get the feeling of being in prison.||This is our second time in Bali. We are exploring the island with plans to stay for two to three nights in different locations. This is the first time we’ve had a bad experience. There are actually a lot of villas with good views for the same price or even cheaper. The location is about a 14-minute bike ride from the center of Ubud. There are no shops nearby, so it’s a quiet village. ||We canceled the booking and left, but they charged us for one night.||I'm so upset that I dint do...
