This spot is American-Chinese style restaurant, not your your typical Comfort Chinese joint. I went for the Fried Noodles with Beef and the Mapo Eggplant.
The Fried Noodles with Beef were a bit too sweet for my liking, and they ended up kinda watery, which isn't the usual deal with fried noodles. The beef, though, was a letdown—it was super chewy. Maybe they used a tough cut or left too much fat on. Definitely not ideal if you're not into wrestling with your food. But props for the generous portion!
Now, onto the Mapo Eggplant—it was a miss. The desciption says Szechuan-style sauce, but what I got was more sweet and sour, like your classic sweet and sour pork. I was missing that Szechuan peppercorn kick and the whole fermented black bean vibe. On the upside, the minced pork was on point, and they didn't skimp on the portion, throwing in some bok choy too.
They throw in some freebies like pickled carrots, chili, fried garlic, and chili oil. The garlic's a winner, adding some nice flavor to the dishes. But the chili oil was a bit of a letdown—it didn't have that typical Chilli Oil kick, you know? Maybe they need to let the flavors mingle a bit longer.
Overall, they don't skimp on portions, that's for sure. But flavor-wise, the dishes I tried didn't quite hit the spot. The noodles were too watery, and the Mapo Eggplant was a far cry from the real Szechuan deal. But if you're after some American-Chinese grub, this could be your jam.

Read moreFood poisoning warning.
This is the second time I’ve had bad food poisoning from this place (Berawa location). Ate here a year ago and was sick so didn’t return until this week when I ordered (honey chicken and Chinese fried rice) and am still sick 36 hours later. Note: this is ALL I had to eat all day and clearly the cause of sickness.
This is obviously a hygiene issue and the owners have been notified, but not made any response hence a public warning here.
Avoid.
Update: In response to the owner's comment this is nothing to do with Bali belly or weather conditions. This is straight up sickness from poor food storage or prep at the restaurant. Copy pasting replies like this shows just how seriously the owners do not take their responsibility. Suggest people read on in the reviews to see how many people are also reporting being sick from eating here. 40 hours after I ate and still sick as of...
Read moresince the restaurant looked small, so i tried the food using online delivery after reading many good reviews.
pork dumplings pan fried 4/5 sechuan taste which i don’t prefer much. dumpling skin is quite thick but the filling is fine.
sticky honey sesame chicken 5/5 sooooo good. no other words could describe 😀
packaging could be upgraded. the cute-sized kraft brown paper was so thin and fragile. size was okay - just enough for its content. paper thickness should be more than 250gsm.
added later:
chinese fried rice 4/5 smell was there. taste was ordinary.
general tso chicken 5/5 tasty but regretted ordering this 😆
food was moved to my own box (for practical reason) as i needed to bring them to...
