Due to comments of your waiter Dedy uhda (not sure if I remembered the name correctly) your restaurant lost a regular customer. We visited your cafe 7-8 times and planned to continue visiting, as we have been living in Bali for 8 months. The situation is as follows, before ordering a dish - pork ribs, I asked the waiter whether the meat would be juicy, after clarifying with the chef, they answered yes it will. If the answer would be -no, I would have ordered another dish. In the end they brought the ribs and the meat was very dry. I said that I didn’t want to eat the dish and I want to refuse. The dish was taken away. Deda's waiter came up and said that this dish was served to other customers and that no one complained before us and he left this dish in a bill. before taking away the dish, he must warn that he will not be able to delete it from the bill. As I know the Waiter should listen to the comment of all clients and not only one who liked everything. We tried ribs in your restaurant 3 times - the first time it was juicy and delicious, the second time it was dry meat and the third time I asked to clarify what kind of meat you have today- Juicy or dry. The waiter Dedy is extremely negative and aggressive, constantly repeating that no one complained about the dish except me. Does this mean that I can’t say my honest opinion if the meat is dry? The waiter Dedy was extremely disrespectful to me, after this conversation, my husband and I had to leave your restaurant and we do not plan to...
Read moreIntro: Visited for the first time after experiencing the 'Nook Mothership' in the past. I was curious to see if the staffing 'attitude' and inability to service customers quickly, was part of the business or a supervisory/management issue.
Atmosphere: Ambiance is good, staff, quick, ever present, very friendly and helpful, with quick service from the bar and kitchen. So the mothership leadership is likely the issue, not the floor staff!
Drinks: I had a Milu Negroni (being a fan of Negoni) but felt confused by the purpose in adjusting the recipe so widely. My friend had a watermelon juice which looked so delightful I later had one myself!
Food: My friend enjoyed his bowl of green and varied vege stuff but I was keen to taste the 'pulled pork with charcoal bun Burger'. Fries/Chips were great but the burger collapsed on touch ie: contents fell out when I picked it up. A very common problem with these decorative/artisanal confections. When a bun is under toasted and the contents are bits and pieces, rather than 'slices and slabs', disaster looms.
As to the pulled pork. Talk about tough to eat and lumpy. I was pulling it from my teeth, later in the night and used 3 toothpicks to sort out the residue.
Summary: A lovely venue with great staff and service. Attention to cooked food prep might...
Read moreI had a team lunch at Milu yesterday. It was just a casual gathering, and we also took the opportunity to celebrate one of my team member’s birthdays.
I ordered my favorite—pan-seared salmon—but it tasted different this time. When I asked about it, they mentioned there had been some adjustments. Previously, the dish came with sautéed vegetables, but they are no longer included.
Unfortunately, our experience was disrupted when we were singing Happy Birthday. A staff member interrupted us to inform us that their policy does not allow outside food. We completely understand and respect that policy. However, we had informed the staff beforehand that we were bringing a cake. We even handed it to them to store before our team arrived and borrowed a lighter for the candles. At no point were we told that singing or celebrating with the cake was not allowed.
It felt awkward to be interrupted in the middle of the celebration. We would have appreciated being informed of the policy earlier—when we dropped off the cake and borrowed the lighter—rather than during the celebration itself.
This wasn’t my first time dining at Milu, or Nook, and I’ve had good experiences before, but unfortunately, this was the most...
