Selong Belanak Beach — Attraction in West Nusa Tenggara

❌Be ware of those people especially this person with glasses ! 🚨🚨🚨He stole my scooter mirror, phone holder and my beach towel!!!!! I went there this afternoon 25/6/2024 it’s my first time to come here. I didn’t drive in to the car park and I just stop on the side of the wild parking spot and which is written on the wall.

Then those people come to me. And this guy told me you can’t park here! You have to park inside and pay for 10k.

I said but it’s show on the wall is wild parking and there’s some scooters and cars parking here. He just becomes so mad and angry then starts to coming so close to me and yelling at me! And said you have to drive inside and pay! This is my land! Or go away! I said we are talking why are you yelling at me? You can just talk. He just keeps yelling at me and saying the same thing. Also getting more angry and more close to me and trying to hit me. The other people trying to calm him down. I just don’t want to talk to him anymore and drive out to 20m away on the side of the road. I went to the beach for around 20 mins then start to read the reviews on google of this place. Then I was so worried about my scooter I couldn’t enjoy the sunset anymore. So I headed back to my scooter then I found out the mirror and phone holder is gone! Also I checked the storage under the seat, I put my beach towel, bikini and my speaker inside a plastic bag. And my beach towel is gone also my speaker is broken☹️I was so sad and couldn’t believe that. I took 10 mins to let myself to clam down then drive to the car park then I saw them sitting there and I yelled at the guy: Hey you!! He pretended he didn’t hear me and didn’t even look on my side. And I speak even louder: Hey you look at me ! I know is you stole my stuffs! He just keeps saying I don’t know. There’s no point to arguing with someone who is uneducated. I said Hey! You will have bad karma. Then I drive back to Kuta. I believe the karma nether come to the people those who do the bad thing or come to his/her family. There are so many nice beaches than this one like Tanjung Ana beach. So I would not come back to this place again! 😔I’m so disappointed about those people and had this bad experience. All the people I met in here are super nice before this happened☹️

one of the best beaches I've visuted in Lombok. period (I've visited all the beaches you see in google when you look for a beach.

ocean beach at its best. so sandy you can even walk in without sea shoes.

i went on a weekday. so not many surfers . great waves for beginner surfers. not so hugh and you can the techniques of surfing. there are loads of surf schools. look for thr best price. and don't book surfing lessons online. you can go there and find your way.

check your board before accepting to rent it. and make sure it's doing well. some boards are worn out because of lessons.

for beginners . use a foam/fiber made board. bot a hardboard.

you can get two sunbeds for 50k as everyshop has his own beds layed on the beach . and you can take a beach mat and use it instead of a sunbed.

thr beach is clean. and well maintained.

the showers are old and need alot of innovation. but after all you're just showering away the seawater. and you have to pay 5k/person for shower. (it's not about the 5k. but I've seen those people buying sweetwater from tankers as the area doesn't have freshwater lines) so 5k is fair.

thr sunset is magical. and it's just like a movie. after sunset. some kiosks start a bonfire and gather benches around it. with guitar notes and some quite singing . I'd recommend staying after sunset for a few minutes. (buy your drinks befores sunset as most kiosks close at sunset).

for the parking. there's plenty of parking spots.

thr beach entry ticket is 10k. you pay it happily so thoe people can keep this beach as beautiful as it is.

although it was really safe and the guys who you rent the beds from will krep an eye on your stuff. we kept our items and backpacks on the sunbeds.

but keep in mind to stay cautious on any beach all over the world. don't carry loads of money or...

So dirty, so much garbage, it's actually hard to explain how much garbage and how stinky and gross this beach is. Don't be fooled by the wide, panoramic photos you see of this place - the hills surrounding this beach ARE beautiful, yes you can get beautiful panoramic shots of this beach but when you're actually walking on the beach and in the water? Filthy. I had this one shuddering moment when a plastic straw got into my swimsuit when I was in the water and I had to pull it out - gross. And a detergent wrapper was stuck in my hair - yuck.

Do you like swimming with plastic bottles and cups, food packaging, straws, plastic plates right with you? Do you want to take a romantic walk alongside mounds of garbage on the beach? Do you want to sit on a beach bed that has a full view of how much garbage has piled up along the sand? Do you like it when the local bed guys smoke right into your face, while asking you to rent their beds?

If you answered yes to all these questions - you should go here! This is the beach for you!

It's so sad and unfortunate that it is so filthy because it is such a scenic beach, the distant hills surrounding. I had such high hopes - we had come to stay at Selong Belanak for 3 days but we were done in just 1 day, and wanted to leave to find a cleaner beach. I wish the locals would take care of this beach but they don't, in fact it feels like they've gone out of their way to keep it dirty, and it feels like maybe they think it's funny that all these wealthy foreigners are being mislaid/fooled into coming to this incredibly...
