Warung local food lombok — Restaurant in West Nusa Tenggara

Sun bed Scam! When we first arrived were immediately greeted and asked if we wanted surf lesson/ rental. While enquiring we were told to sit down on one of the sun beds that lay in front of Warung Local. We then decided to buy a surfboard rental/boat trip to the surf. After the boat trip we had lunch and after finishing sat on the sun beds at the front, imagining this was included with lunch as it has been in different places in Kuta. After about 15 minutes we were then told by the guy who sold us the surf rental that we had to pay for the sun beds for using them, not knowing we had to pay we said we would move away but he would not accept this and demanded we paid for using them, even insisting he take us to an ATM if we didn’t have the cash (200,000 IDR). Apparently the sun beds belong to a different owner which is why having lunch + surf hire wasn’t enough to use them, this felt very suspicious when the guy who brought our lunch out started packing them away at the end of the day. The worst place I’ve experienced in my 3 weeks travel along Indonesia.

I ordered for a “beef burger”. After waiting for more than 30 min, the “beef burger” was ridiculous small, and the worst thing is that THERE WAS NO BEEF, it had two thin slides of something I don’t know what it was. I asked the waitress if that was the beef burger, and he started laughing. He went to ask the chef, and he came back laughing and the answer was yes, that was the beef burger. I regret to eat that (after reading a previous comment on someone that get ill eating in this local a sandwich). He took the burger and didn’t give any other option to eat. At least I save 60k...

PLEASE READ -

Do not go with the people on the beach who ask you to go surfing with the boat. If they are from “Lombok hollyday surf in selong belanak” (I put a picture in the attachment of the establishment). It is a complete scam. They give you a broken repaired board which will break again at the dangerous place they bring you. The board will break and they will ask you to pay 2,5 million and threaten you. Please check the other reviews on that establishment to see this happens all the time!
