One of the many attractions Jogja could offer to tourists and locals. Located strategically along Jalan Malioboro and near to the historical Museum Vrendeburg, Titik Nol (Zero Point) and Taman Pintar, Yogyakarta.

It is a wet and dry market housed under one two storey building. A shopping heaven for tourist looking for batik's clothing's and apparels. They also sells antique collectibles and souvenirs mostly sought and made locally. In fact you can find everything here without having to go to other places.

Items offered are competitively priced but it's your bargaining skills that matters most. Tired and hungry while shopping for your needs, no worry as there are many sidewalk food stalls nearby ever ready to serve you. Please bear with the condition inside this market as it was always crowded and hot. Avoid bringing your babies along while shopping as he/she may not be comfortable with this kind of condition.

You will definitely be confused when making your choice as most clothing's and batik's wear sold here are uniquely beautiful. Stalls are closed with each other with narrow pathways to walk along. You will be greeted by the friendly shop owners inviting you to patronize their stalls. To be fully satisfied with your purchase, you will have to spend at least a day or two exploring this...

Harganya kira-kira Rp25 ribu. Kalau beli banyak, bisa lebih murah.

The infamous Pasar Beringharjo sells a lot of goods ranging from daily needs to vintage market. But the most popular commodity among tourists is batik. They have a wide variety of batik. Hand-printed to machine-printed, cotton or silk, you name it they have it. But the problem for me was the layout of the market. The market has been established since the Dutch colonial era and the building is still maintained that way. The first floor has really narrow aisle and when the peak season comes it will be too crowded and hot. It's so uncomfortable. It will be hard to find parking space too since Beringharjo doesn't have spacious parking lot. It is advised not to bring kids to this place especially if you are planning to visit on holiday season. It is not friendly for disabled people too.
