This stunning house (Blarney House) is located on the grounds Blarney Castle & Gardens. Visited during November and was blessed with beautiful weather. This was part of my tour I booked to Blarney Castle. Built in 1874 it is the current home of the Colthurst family who continue to live there. It is surrounded by an expanse of parkland with rare trees, formal gardens, manicured lawns, rose beds and more. Blarney House and Gardens in Blarney, County Cork, is a Scottish Baronial mansion designed by John Lanyon and is open to the public during the summer months. The house sits in the middle of the parklands situated less than 200m south of the great castle itself. Built in 1874, it has now been restored to its former glory. The house is situated overlooking Blarney Lake and features a magnificent interior.

Visited again with my son on wonderfull sunny afternoon in late October. So I was hoping to get to see some Autumn magic!.. I wasn't disappointed, to say the least and the pics will witness the same.. For first timers, it has a big enough car park (charged), ticket can be purchased at the entrance (bit costly I would say), has two very good cafe, one at entrance and other near the Castle with enough options to meet your typical choice.. Two toilets too, one near the Castle. The ride up top the Castle is bit narrow so avoid if you are claustrophobic.. Enjoy the beautiful walks, many options starting from 20 mins to 2 hours.. All walks very neatly marked and can be easily done.. Well worth the time spent there!!..

It's a private palace. To the kind courtesy of the owners, who live there, some sections of this mansion is open to tourists from June untill August, from 10am to 2pm. Tour is guided with a small fee. It's pretty nice, plenty of historical details, and a great bonus to already rich experience in Blarney Castle and of course Blarney GARDENS, not to be missed. Oh, no photos inside of the palace are allowed
