Lantern House — Restaurant in Cork

Hmm... Not great although not actually bad. We had 2x starters, 2 mains and a bottle of wine and it was 75 euros. Quite expensive for what really was a mediocre takeaway. I must admit that their COVID-19 measures were good and the staff were lovely. Food wise, I had satay skewers, they were deep fried and as a result they were dry and chewy with a sauce that had far too much corn flour in it. My wife had spring rolls that came with an luminous red sauce which without it they were fairly bland. Our main courses were just ok, we got 2 of the house special beef dishes at 20 each and they again were OK, I've had beef dishes for less than 10 that were better. If we got it as a delivery, paid less than 40 we would have been disappointed but would have been OK...

Ill caveat this all with i am not sure of the price point in the area.

Got fried rice and chicken curry. 18 euros of there abouts.

Served quickly, staff where friendly, this is where the positive experience ends.

Chicken was awful, dry, tasteless and like it was added to a curry sauce made from granules, but still too watery. Rice wasn't great, stodgy, over cooked.

Onions on the other hand were good, but I didn't order an onion curry.

It's a tourist spot, so maybe they dont rely on repeat trade. Honestly, I'd avoid. Its not good, but not terrible - but that...

It was very nice.The waiters are really nice,unlike most waiters they don't just ask what you want they might have a chat with you.If you come here a lot you might even become friends.Now about the food.It is really nice the chicken chow main is really nice totally recommend it.The reastruant has really nice scenery it is so decorative.The blond waitress is really nice.I would totally recommend coming here it is just really nice in general.Love it here really nice.
