If you are an international tourist, and at all concerned about making a purchase at Blarney Woollen Mills, rest assured that they will get your items to you, and if anything is wrong, they will take care of it (just make sure to be a bit patient, depending on how far away you may be). Although it may be a really good idea to not only look at your items when you get them, but probably wear them for a bit as well, that way you don't end up finding a problem months down the road.
My wife and I visited Blarney Woollen Mills as part of our CIE Tour over Labor Day 2018. My wife had been waiting to buy sweaters and other clothes until we got here, and we ordered what we wanted. The purchase was duty free (shipped to the US), and the shipping was free (based on our total).
A couple weeks after we returned home, our clothes arrived in a slightly bulging but carefully packed box, with each item in its own bag. My wife wore one of the sweaters a couple weeks after that (when it was finally cold enough), but discovered that the seam along one side had almost completely unravelled. We contacted the customer service email listed on our emailed receipt describing the issue and providing pictures of the sweater. Within a couple of days, we received an email from Lorraine informing us that there would be no need to return the sweater, and that they had already shipped a replacement to us and we could expect it within the next 2 weeks.
I was pleasantly shocked at the level of customer service we received, as it would have been very easy for Blarney Mills to simply ignore us. But instead, they treated us better than most other places I have dealt with.

Read moreI was shocked at how a staff member responded when I asked if they had a certain item on the menu. Her reply " It's on the board behind me " was not what I expected but in her defense she's young and may not have intended to come across as rude. I asked if they had any options for a hot vegan meal. I really expected a positive response but she said no and said " well it is Sunday " !! She told me that there were two salads I could have. In such a large restaurant that has been catering for the people of Cork and thousands of international tourists for many years ,why did your staff and your manager appear to know absolutely nothing about what vegans don't eat ? Why is it that none of the staff ( I spoke to three wait staff and the Manager ) offered to ask the Chef if he or she could whip up a hot vegan meal when that is what happens everywhere else!!! This was the first time I have sat beside my companions with nothing to eat . I was not only shocked but I'm also really really surprised at the lack of awareness. I even asked if there were any vegan desserts, just out of curiosity . No. Do they not cater to those with dairy allergies ??? I hope they change their views and I hope the Manager will do more than talk to the Chef. I don't believe the Chef has any problem cooking vegan food by the way. There were plenty of great looking dishes that could easily be made vegan as well. I respectfully suggest that the owners train up their staff as veganism is not a fad , it's...
Read moreVery big place. Difficult to find your way out once you go in which should be of concern regarding fire safety, if there ever was a fire. Plenty to burn in their. I got lost in there before I eventually found the way out. Prices on clothes are very small to see, but stated in selection of currencies. Some items may not have prices on them and always check the price anyway. Don't be afraid to ask and leave the item with the assistant, if you don't like the price. Just because you bring something to the checkout does not mean you have to buy it or feel obliged or embarrassed to do so. There are three floors. First floor: women's stuff. Second floor: men's section Third: household, kitchen stuff that sort of thing. There is a bargain section on the second floor, but its very limited. Lots of shops/sections in there, jewelry, Irish stuff, souvenirs, and clothes from material other than wool such as modern outdoor fabrics with jackets and the like. Could take a while to get through all the sections. They are however playing modern music or Christmas songs stuff there at present and its a big much I have to say. Too loud and intrusive. Doesn't really fit with the decorum. I say a Santa booth on the second floor — so they're probably going to have something for the children. Car park is free at the...
