The service in this restaurant was absolutely shocking. They were almost an hour late opening the hot food counter. When we received our food there were no forks in the trays by the cash register. My wife very politely asked a waitress for more and she simply shrugged and walked away starting to clear a table. I then watch a second waitress shake her head when my wife approached her and again walk away. I was so irate at this I approached the manager who told me he could see forks in the tray. When he came around the counter and realised there were none he went back to the kitchen and about 5 minutes later as our food went cold another waitress arrived out with forks. I then noticed that my sons knife was dirty. At no point did the manager address the behaviour of his two staff. I then commented to one of the waitress who had ignored my wife that at least we will know not to come here again at which she smirked and said âfair enoughâ. Which was the exact attitude I expected. Ireland is not only prided for its hospitality, but also itâs common courtesy of treating people with warmth and respect. This type of carry on damages that reputation so much and is absolutely unbelievable that a business would allow people to speak to their customers and treat then like that. We will never be setting food in the Mill again, and I would strongly advise the owners to employ managers who actually understand the importance of customer service and respecting people. This is the type of attitude that is making Ireland uncompetitive and preventing business from develop with good staff. Appalling...

I live locally so this is a convenient place to meet people for a chat. Just back from a quick lunch with some family (second visit this week).
Very disappointed with the experience today. The ambiance was terrible with music that had a strong bass element â made it very hard to have a normal conversation. As a supporter of Autism Friendly towns, they really need to walk the walk â simple changes would make a huge difference.
In addition, the value for money felt very poor. Made-to-order sandwiches (2 slices of bread, 2 slices of cheese, salad and tomato with a few crisps) were âŹ8.50 â that's a bit rich and going to deter me from going there more frequently (especially if the ambiance is so poor). Hot drinks were reasonably priced (aligned with the average locally). Chowder seemed to be the best value â it appeared to be full of fish and only cost one euro more than the questionable spicy parsnip soup which was half the size.
Definitely room for...
Read moreGave this place 3 chances and was poor on all. Went to order an açai bowl and told them I cannot have peanuts yet the member or staff proceeded to add a scoop of peanut butter as a topping. When he handed it to me I apologised and said âIâm sorry I canât eat that Iâm allergic to peanuts can I get one without the peanut butterâ. He rolled his eyes and made another one and harshly put it in front of me. This incident with my allergy has occurred 2 times even though I have specified before I pay that I cannot have peanuts. Also, I also work in hospitality and I understand the work can be annoying and the hours long but hostility towards customers is not ok. For a high tourism spot this needs to be worked on. I will not be recommending or...
