Donegal Bay Waterbus — Attraction in County Donegal

The man taking our booking was extremely rude we called to say we would be slightly late but we would make it on time could we pay over the phone to save time when we got to the boat he refused to let us pay insisting that we would not make it even when we assured him we would but no he told me that to take our booking would only be a hassle to have to refund us when we arrived late (HIS WORDS) I said no I am trying to tell you we will make it on time just a bit later but we will make it on time he refused insisting traffic all excuses under the sun I am so looking forward to the day just to say YES we did make it on time plenty of time 20 before the 3 pm ferry was due to sail and decided not to go they were packed on the wee boat like sardines and I was so annoyed about the mans attitude towards me and a person living in Donegal I am so disappointed to be faced with this attitude I can only say it would offend any tourists wanting to enjoy Donegal if that's the attitude the man takes to his customers especially in today's times we need to be encouraging people to visit Donegal not PUT THEM OFF get a class in customers service seriously I watched the boat take off 10 min early aswell so not impressed I will be sharing my experience so I hope you improve your...

This was our 3 rd time on the Donegal Waterbus . Staff as always courteous and helpful. We have always on the three times experienced the entertainment interactive uplifting and reflected beautiful Songs that reflected the tones of Donegal . We had 6 new family adult members with us and to be constructive the entertainment was dull !!! Felt lifeless but a good singer . We do appreciate that entertainers have all different personalities and confidence levels and experience In interacting and engaging with the public. Had we not had the great past experiences of the Donegal town 'Water boat' this would have been a flat !! Experience. We certainly will consider !! booking again but will be checking out the level of and experience of the entertainers first!! It really does add to the experience and to be honest it was not what our 6 new family members received, unfortunately today Thur 18th August 2022. Had a great time spent on the Dún na nGall flat bottomed boat recently - been meaning to go for so long, was delighted to finally walk the gangway and board on a warm yet overcast evening.

Word to the wise, queue starts 30 mins prior to departure - if there are some bus tours and they are booked on - best be at the gangway gate 30 mins prior to sailing to get seats for your party - the seats are lounge type inside and single fold down/up, & rows of 2 on the upper deck.

Wonderful views along the way, an incredibly smooth trip, very nice staff, pass by and take orders for drinks and snacks - no need to leave your seat or miss a minute of the trip.

Did see some otters an a seal in the distance, the commentry is good on the way out to give insight to what's in view, some folk songs on the way back.

I'd go again and again - really enjoyed it.
