First timers here and holiday makers. Read a recent article on this award winning restaurant so had to check it out. We arrived at 4pm. No early bird menu was offered although a children's menu was available with the a la carte. Throughout the meal, all the staff were excellent with our two children aged 5 and under and had a really lovely manner with them. The only thing to better this child/family experience is to offer a picture to colour with colours to help occupy them during a relaxed service. To commence, we ordered a tandoori mixed starter to share at €8.50 & for mains: butter chicken with plain rice and we asked for a recommendation for a medium curry for our 2nd dish: we were recommended either the Indian Railway curry or garlic chicken tikka chilli bhuna so opted for the latter with plain rice (both mains were €18.95 incl. plain rice or plain naan). We also ordered an extra garlic naan to share at €3.95.We declined the offered poppadoms as we thought we had ordered plenty between us so were surprised when they landed at our table but we were assured that they were complimentary. The mixed starter was very tasty. The butter chicken was quite sweet and mild tasting but enjoyable especially for the children. The garlic chilli chicken made my tongue tingle and I am used to curries. For drinks, we ordered a jug of Miwadi for the table and 2 glasses of red wine for the non-driver at €8.45 each which arrived in a quarter bottle. Although on closer inspection of the menu it was €6.45 each. Overall, very tasty Indian cuisine deserving of the accolades. My husband paid the bill. When we were home, I was annoyed to find that we had indeed been charged for the complimentary 4 poppadoms and chutney (at €5). Up until this point, I was giving an excellent rating for this restaurant: both food and service but hence reduced the rating to reflect these sneaky overcharges of the unordered...

We ordered food with mild spice however all the food was still spicy certainly not mild. Unfortunately we couldn't eat it nor could the children. All the food was sent back to kitchen, staff apologised and still charged us the full price. Was not good experience since members of my family ended up with a stomach ache. We were hoping that after we raised this issue of the spice level not being mild, that they would sort it. We hope this review will help in this.

Reply to owner? First of all we are not the only customer give you 1×star .. secondly, your waiter asked for extra cost for the prawns and I accepted. Thirdly, your waiter came during the starter which was chips and another silly stuff and no show or a visit during the main dishes- clearly beacuse we didnt last for long after we can not eat the food. Finally, the food has not been touched at all couple of spoon has been taken out from the dishes and that why your waiter asked why the food has not been eaten and we replied simply because of it is very spicy and you are not in position or a place to stand or challenge me as a customer who ordered mild spice and received we his family include children and was very spicy food. In state of challenge me .. I am advising you to respect my opinion as a customer and try to sort it for the future customer. Note: just the table beside us has the same issue and they reported to waiters. All the staff were brilliant caring and looking after us. I expect you to invite us for a meal to prove at least you can make a right food for an not happy...

Have a look at the naan pictures attached. Very disappointing for a restaurant with awards. This is the typical Indian restaurants made only for the west palate. I was highly recommend this restaurant from the fleet in killybegs, they had clearly told me it is quite westernised and mild dishes. But that is no excuse to give naan bread half cooked and size of a small side dish. Naan bread was very thick and very small. We paid €4 for a peshawar naam which is supposed to be sweet but was extremely disappointed as it was not sweet at all. The both currys we got were completely blend, no taste at all. I have been eating garlic chilli chicken from Dublin and Galway past 15 years, it is my most favourite dish which I get every time I go to any Indian restaurant, there was not a single taste of chilli at all. I was very disappointing when I returned back to my hotel room to taste the food and 3 naans which were the smallest I've ever come across. Huge waste of €40. I'm forced to think this place only runs as they have an Irish lady front of house, everywhere you go and see this, you can expect blend food but full house, only the lady has contacts who bring in custom for the restaurant. Its not a first I've seen this. It's obviously the only Indian restaurant for miles and miles. For anyone looking for the AUTHENTIC, you will be very much disappointed here. The only thing which was good was the inside atmosphere. I know you have awards and reputation, but don't call it authentic Indian when it's...
