Huge surprises are contained within this relatively small building! First off, a shout-out to Gillian, the OPW tour guide, who brought us on a fabulous tour. Honestly, her passion and enthusiasm brought this place to life. I have always been curious about this unique structure, as I live nearby; it has a cloak-and-dagger feel to it, and it reminds me of certain movies I have seen. However, all in all, the Marino Casino is one of the most fascinating places in Dublin, thanks to its rich history, distinctive design, and hidden secrets. I won't spoil it here, but make sure to visit! You always need a tour guide for your visit.

Visited this location last Saturday as part of an organised tour and i got admit I was blow away with the history of the place. Tour guide Stephen was excellent with a great wealth of knowledge about the Casino building and its history. Definitely well worth a visit if your in the area. Unfortunately there is no cafe at the Casino (one planned together with interperative centre in the future) but Clontarf GC just across road if you looking for a bite to eat. Tour only 5 euro a head (4 euro if part of a gtoup) so money well spent n definitely recommend it 👍

Super tour. Just spent an hour with tour guide Michael showing me around the building explaing the fascinating history and amazing architecture. Finished in 1759, with underfloor heating, advanced drainage routing all the rainwater to roman type baths underneath the building via intricate gutters down through the pillars from the roof, the attention to detail on the ceilings and floors is incredible, and last but not least, the tunnels underneath. For the 1000s of us living right beside it all our lives, you're missing out not doing this tour.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting the Casino of Marino, and it was an unforgettable experience! This exquisite 18th-century villa is a true gem, showcasing the brilliance of neo-classical architecture. From the moment I arrived, I was captivated by the stunning exterior, with its intricate details and beautiful proportions.

The guided tour was exceptional. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate, bringing the history and significance of the villa to life. They explained the unique features of the Casino, including the clever optical illusions and architectural tricks that Sir William Chambers, the architect, incorporated into the design.

Walking through the various rooms, I was amazed by the rich decorations and elegant furnishings. Each room told a story, and it felt like stepping back in time.

One of the highlights of the tour was learning about the innovative design elements, such as the hidden doors and the ingenious use of space and light. It's no wonder the Casino of Marino is considered a masterpiece of European architecture.

The staff at the site were friendly and welcoming, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable visit. The tour was well-organized, and there was ample time to ask questions and explore the villa at a leisurely pace.

I highly recommend a visit to the Casino of Marino for anyone interested in history, architecture, or simply looking for a unique and enriching experience. It's a true testament to the artistry and craftsmanship of its time, and a must-see for anyone...

A Hidden Gem Brought to Life by a Fantastic Guide

We had the pleasure of touring the Marino Casino with Stephen as our guide, and it was an absolutely unforgettable experience. The building itself is a gem of neoclassical architecture—elegant, intricate, and full of surprises. But what truly brought the visit to life was Stephen’s incredible knowledge and storytelling.

He managed to make every detail—from the architecture to the history—feel vivid and relevant. His passion was infectious, and he had a brilliant way of connecting the past to the present, making even the smallest features of the building feel significant. We left with a deep appreciation not just for the structure, but for the people and stories behind it.

Highly recommend this tour to anyone, whether you're a history buff or just curious. And if you can, ask for Stephen—he’ll make the experience even...
