Adelphi Jade — Restaurant in The Municipal District of Dundalk

I use to goto the adelphi a couple of years ago. Tonight I decided to order a chicken ball meal from them on my way home. Now, usually in any Chinese I've been to, the chicken ball meal would all be seperate from eachother. A portion of chicken balls, a portion of chips, and a curry dip. When I got my meal, it was all combined into a small tray wrapped in clingfilm. I thought maybe they got the order wrong so I brought it back. The man who took my order came out with a menu and started pointing at it, raising his voice at me "See this!! This is what a meal is. Next time you say you want it seperate!!" I explained as politely as I could that I wasn't aware that they done it differently. Last time I got it there, It was seperate. He continued to raise his voice, pointing fingers at me and I honestly felt so uncomfortable infront of everyone. He stormed off in a huff to the kitchen and I turned to the counter lazy and said "you can tell him I'm okay now. I don't want to eat from here, that was really rude." And walked out. I never got my money back and honestly, with how he spoke to me it would've made anyone feel low. I get people have bad days at work, I was in hospitality for 8 years , but that never is an excuse to yell at a customer. There was just miscommunication and this could've been easily resolved if he kindly informed me when fixing my order to just inform them next time about wanting the food seperate rather than raising your voice and pointing fingers. I won't be going back there again , never felt so uncomfortable...

We went for weekend dinner with friends. We had really good time. Lovely staff. I ordered chicken wings, One of the staff asked do you want left or right wings, after couple of seconds..we all laughing... Entire dinner time was fun. Taste of all dishes were good. Quality is good. Chicken dishes (chicken cau mein) were really good. Chicken wings and rolls were fantastic. Sizzling hot dishers are must try. Dimsum platter and Deserts are excellent speciality death by chocolate really yummy. They welcome and say good bye in very unique way. Loved the way treating custimers. I would request management to increase portion size , especially starters and more options for vegetarians / vegan. Over all good ambiance and friendly staff. Tasty food. Just need to work few things to make better . I would recommend this place as 4/5 for Chinese Cuisine. City centre location with lot of parking area. Near to longwalk Busstop .Thanks guys for special birthday song and a smallcake . Loved...

Disappointed- Good, but a big grip- Credit card scam. During a recent meal, which was fine, when it came to pay the bill, the lady was determined to ensure that my UK credit card was charged in sterling rather than Euro. The exchange rate offered by the machines is awful, its always better to pay in the local currency instead of taking the rate offered by the merchant and their credit card machine.

Twice I had to ask for the Euro charge and cancel the transaction when I was presented with the UK equivalent, (as offered by the machine). I am confident the lady new exactly what she was doing. Only belligerence on my behalf to ensure I paid in Euro and in doing saved myself approx. £4 GBP (between the exchange rates).

Very disappointed with the restaurant for attempt to pull this type of stunt. Probably...
