Atami Japanese Cuisine — Restaurant in The Municipal District of Dundalk

If it’s possible to give Atami a 0/5 stars I would.

I came here at 3:00 today, to eat food with my girlfriend. I felt completely fine before I got there and once I finished the food I threw up.

In that moment I knew I was going to throw up and I was barely able to speak the words to my girlfriend that I felt sick, but she knew something was wrong. She asked me if I was okay and I told her I felt like throwing up. She asked the worker for a bag and the worker said that she was more concerned about how the other customers would feel about seeing me vomit. In that moment I literally couldn’t move though, if I had got up I would have vomited either way. When I customer is sick, they should be taken care of, but I was not prioritised at all. Instead all the workers were watching me and I cleaned my vomit myself.

My girlfriend went to Penneys to buy clothes for me to change into. Atami still charged my girlfriend for her food. They were more concerned about getting money and defending their restaurant, as opposed to helping me clean my own vomit, that was caused by the food at their restaurant.

I went to Atami on a Sunday coming from Meath. I had something to do in Dundalk and needed some warm and comforting food. The moment i entered the place I was instantly welcomed by their staff. I was directed towards a a table and the waitress was kind and understanding that i had no idea what to get from their menu so i asked for her recommendation. I was relaxed after having been out in the freezing cold. The service was great, making sure everything was comfortable for the customer. I was served with my food after about 15 minutes, I had the beef ramen and two rolls of sushi. The three dishes tasted fantastic, very nicely plated and i couldn’t wait to eat. After i was done i could admire the nice decor they had in Atami, and after being fed some great authentic Japanese food i left. Didn’t regret a minute going all the way from Monaghan for our takeaway 😂We had ordered takeaway yesterday evening(14.02) which was obviously a busy time for all restaurants! Therefore waiting time was longer than advised, but you could see that workers were very well organized and professional, and were doing all possible to complete the orders ASAP. I have no idea what was going on at the kitchen that time, must have been mad busy there, but in no way were our dishes affected - the food was tidy and delicious just as any other time when we were here.
