Усыпальница Баба является Святым местом для Бахаи всего мира. Сам же Баб (с арабского "Врата") является Пророком предтечей Бахауллы (Слава Господа), пришествие которого было обещано всеми религиями прошлого. За Свои убеждения и проповеди Баб был публично казнён на казарменной площади в городе Тебриз (Иран), но свет Его учения засиял с ещё большей силой. Останки Баба тайно перевозились с место на место в течение 50 лет, до тех пор, пока не появилась возможность захоронить их в этом месте. Саму усыпальницу построил Абдул-Баха в 1910 году, коллонаду и надстройку возвел Его внук и Хранитель Веры Бахаи Шоги Эффенди в 1944 году. В год столетия со дня объявления Бабом о Своей Миссии.
