HaZkenim Falafel — Restaurant in Haifa

Delicious falafel, made fresh in front of your eyes as you wait. They were happy to give it to us on a plate with salads & tahini sans pita since we’d had our fill of so much bread already! The pita pockets looked nice as well, and they offer white or whole wheat, half or full size. Tiny place with line out the door which told us it must be good! A local told us that when they want falafel in Haifa, they always come here, nowhere else. Would have been 5 stars if they also served hummus or if prices were a tiny bit lower/more veg came with, but maybe I’m getting spoiled with inexpensive street food :) One small (they said 6 falafel balls although they gave us 7!!) plus a Sprite...

From the outside it is just another falafel place. We heard from a bunch of people about it from several parts of the world so, thinking they were obviously exagerating, we decided to see it with our eyes. They were completely wrong... it's better... really.

The young man in the entrance gave us a falafel to try and it was love at first sight. They were all nice from the first moment. We got the whole Falafel (see pictures) and the taste was perfect. We love Falafel and we never tasted one like this one. Keep the business...

Amazing first falafel experience! Totally delicious and very filling but not heavy like the American fast food I'm used to. Loved the peppers along with it. Don't remember quite how much it costed, but I know that I payed for two, and two cokes since my buddy payed for the last round of beers we had earlier, and I think I got it cheaper! The guy running the place by himself was very hospitible and friendly. Greeted us immediately, whipped it up for us very quickly, and stuffed the heck out of those pitas with all the fresh...
