Garden of Augustus: A Capri Must-See for Breathtaking Views (and a Little Green Oasis) The Garden of Augustus in Capri isn't just another botanical garden; it's a meticulously manicured oasis perched on the edge of this stunning island, offering some of the most iconic and breathtaking views in the region. If you're planning a trip to Capri, this should absolutely be on your itinerary.

The Views: The Star of the Show

Let's be honest, you're probably going for the views, and they do not disappoint. The Garden of Augustus boasts panoramic vistas that will leave you speechless. From the meticulously arranged flowers and sculptures, you can gaze down at:

Via Krupp: This incredibly winding, switchback pathway clinging to the cliffs below is an engineering marvel and a sight to behold. Just seeing it snaking its way down is worth the entrance fee alone. The Faraglioni Rocks: These iconic sea stacks jutting out of the turquoise waters are perhaps Capri's most recognizable landmark. The Garden provides a perfect vantage point for capturing stunning photos. Marina Piccola: A charming little harbor nestled below, offering a glimpse into the bustling seafaring life of the island. The Garden Itself: A Welcome Respite

While the views are the main draw, the garden itself is a pleasant experience. The carefully cultivated flowerbeds burst with color and fragrance, providing a welcome respite from the bustling streets of Capri Town. The paths are easy to navigate, and there are plenty of benches to relax and soak in the beauty. You'll find a variety of plant life, including local flora as well as some exotic species.

Pros:

Unparalleled views: As mentioned, the views are simply stunning. Well-maintained and beautiful gardens: The garden is a lovely place to wander and relax. Easy to access: Located in Capri Town, it's easily accessible on foot. Photo opportunities galore: Prepare your camera! Cons:

Entrance fee: It's not free to enter, but the price is reasonable considering the views and upkeep. Can get crowded: Especially during peak season, be prepared for crowds, especially around the most popular viewpoints. Consider visiting early in the morning or later in the afternoon. Limited shade: Bring sunscreen and a hat, especially on sunny days. Travel Tips:

Best time to visit: Early morning or late afternoon to avoid crowds and enjoy the softer light. Wear comfortable shoes: You'll be doing a bit of walking. Bring water and sunscreen: Essential for staying comfortable. Allow at least an hour: To fully enjoy the garden and take in the views. Check if Via Krupp is open: It sometimes closes for maintenance. Even if it's closed, the views from above are still spectacular. Overall:

The Garden of Augustus is an essential stop on any Capri itinerary. While the entrance fee might seem a bit steep, the unparalleled views and the tranquility of the garden make it well worth the cost. It's a perfect place to capture stunning photos, soak in the beauty of the island, and create lasting memories....

“The gardens are an absolute gem and a must-visit spot in Capri! Nestled on the edge of a cliff, this location offers breathtaking panoramic views of the island and the sparkling blue waters of the Tyrrhenian Sea. The scenery is nothing short of magical, with every corner offering picture-perfect moments. The gardens themselves are beautifully maintained, filled with vibrant flowers, lush greenery, and well-laid pathways that invite you to wander and take in the peaceful atmosphere.

One of the highlights is the view of the iconic Faraglioni rock formations, which can be admired from the garden’s terraces. The way the sea and sky blend into endless shades of blue, contrasted by the greenery and the rugged cliffs, is a sight that stays with you long after you leave. This spot is not only a feast for the eyes but also a place where you can truly connect with nature and feel its calming energy.

The layout of the gardens is compact yet thoughtfully designed, making it easy to explore at your own pace. Despite its relatively small size, it’s packed with charm and character. The vibrant flowers and Mediterranean plants are complemented by the artistic arrangement of the space, making it a true sanctuary of beauty.

It’s a place where history, nature, and art come together seamlessly. The serenity of the gardens, coupled with the stunning views, makes it a perfect spot to pause, reflect, and soak in the beauty of Capri. Whether you’re a nature lover, a photography enthusiast, or simply looking for a peaceful retreat, this garden is an unforgettable experience that’s worth every moment...

My wife and I recently visited the Giardini di Augusto, also known as the Gardens of Augustus. While the gardens themselves are small in size, they possess a certain charm that cannot be denied. We were fortunate to have purchased our tickets online and bypassed the long waiting line, which the staff repeatedly informed us about. It truly felt like a miracle as we skipped the entire queue effortlessly.

Upon entering, we discovered that the gardens' size did limit our stroll, but what truly impressed us were the spectacular, unobstructed views available from various points along the perimeter. These views were absolutely breathtaking and undoubtedly the highlight of our visit. From there, you can admire the beauty of the surrounding landscape and take in the stunning sights.

I highly recommend purchasing your tickets online, as it offers a quick and hassle-free experience without the need for excessive waiting. The staff's constant reminders to do so were genuinely helpful, and we appreciated the efficiency it provided.

Though the gardens themselves may be small, the captivating vistas they offer make them worth a visit. Don't miss out on the opportunity to witness the beauty that lies just beyond the garden's edges.

Overall, the Giardini di Augusto offers a lovely escape, especially for those seeking exceptional views. By purchasing tickets online, you can ensure a smooth entry and spend more time enjoying the awe-inspiring...
