Read moreThis is the main city train station out of the 4 or 5 in the vicinity. Essentially only 3 platforms are in use regularly. You need to go down and round the underpass from within the station to cross between the platforms. There is a small but busy cafe just out with the main ticket office and waiting area inside. It is a fairly small station for such a large city which makes it easy to navigate and on our 2 visits we found it not to be busy at all. Reading other comments here it seems that on this spot if the earth nobody really gives a toss about customer service. For me that's a good reason to stay as short as possible in Catania.
We ended up getting a taxi. The taxi driver whitnessed the drama unfolding with a reassured kind if...
