TAM - Tower Art Museum — Attraction in Matera

My experience was completely wonderful, I really really enjoyed every last bit of this museum and I would totally recommend it to everyone: from the most passionate artist, to the ones who just want to have a fun experience, and to simply anyone who wants to see cool stuff and enjoy the true Matera experience. Their tickets are also cheap so this is accessible to pretty much anyone. Also their souvenirs are cool af and they have a vast variety of modern books which is simply amazing and unique.

I want to take you through my experience, since like I have said a million times, this was such a groundbreaking experience and it deserves true recognition. Starting off I got welcomed by one of the most passionate and enthusiastic guides that I ever had the chance to encounter, which I later on discovered was nothing but less the founder. I later on got shown a stunning introductory video where the story of the tower gets explained in a very fun and educational way; Soon after me and the other visitors got carried to the tower and got shown plus explained the amazing affresco's, designs, statutes, and history. The Staff members were really friendly and helpful, they were really patience with all the visitors and made sure that all of us were accomodated and felt like part of Matera and their museum. They also helped me orientate around the city and not to mention that their tower was a life saver, being that I got lost in Matera, and my point of reference was none the less their venue, so certainly if you don't wanna get lost in Matera you better visit them.

To finally conclude, I wanted to sum up my experience one last time, it was: educational, cool af, very interesting, show stopping, and overall awesome. I will definitely come and visit the TAM again and I can't wait to see all the forever beautiful results that all the hard work that everybody is putting in this come together. A brilliant contemporary museum that should not be missed. A group of passionate young people have restored the medieval tower and turned it into a wonderful artistic space. Matera is a stunning town rich in fascinating history - this museum respects Matera’s incredible history while also confidently asserting that the town’s long history of extraordinary art and culture should not be frozen in time and put behind a piece of glass for passive consumption.
