Al Falco Grillaio — Restaurant in Matera

I stay to eat yesterday 01/10/2017 a pizza with a friend and I found the worst pizza I ever eat until now in my 6 months in South Italy in many places. The pizza was not good taste and everything was from a package. Any vegetable wasn't fresh and I surprise because the area have nice quality vegetables. The beer was without taste, the useless beer ever. The service was no good and unable to talk English or to help us. Finally they charge us 1.5€ for each person for service when was no service or bad quality service. We didn't take water and they took our glasses for water, like they dont have other glasses for other tables. Useless. Also another note, the POS machine for visa card no worked and no recognize my card. Easy way to receive the fresh cash money. I am not accepted. Never again if they continue with...

The location of this Italian restaurant is excellent, and the food is genuinely good – tasty and well-prepared. However, the experience was tainted by the behavior of the staff. During our visit, we witnessed an older couple who simply asked to share a pizza. Instead of a polite response, the staff made them feel awkward and even embarrassed for making such a request. This kind of treatment is unacceptable and really takes away from what could have been an enjoyable dining experience. A little more respect and hospitality would go a long way.

After walking round the centre for what felt like ages we stumbled upon this restaurant and were lured in by the promise of pizza. The server has been very kind and saved us from our broken attempts at speaking Italian. They do have an English menu, by the way. My husband had one of the white pizzas and it was delicious. My aubergine parmesan was equally tasty - probably pre-prepared and reheated as wasn’t piping hot but I eat soup cold so it didn’t bother me one bit.
